This has already been discussed, its not possible without alot of new code ;)

I don't know about that "alot of", but still enough that it won't be worth of it imo.

And what BM thinks of it? Maybe he will add it, if smo let him know...

dunno what he thinks but remember that there is always the possibility that it's not even possible...

(when this was discussed earlier i only looked if it was possible to do it at present, never cared to take more in debth look into it as i think it's not important)

Well, it could be of much use in certain cases, if BM decides to do it (to check possibilities) nobody looses. 2-3 or more such "small" things will make users prefer the respectable client who has it, although only one "micro feature" is too minor. ;) Yes, I hope BM will see this and make a quick check, without delaying RC11 for such things. ;)

Spoke to Big Muscle and it's not possible with latest code, or in fact it'll cause more memory to be used. ;)

Then leaving it for the future, when the DC++ code will allow... Or if the problem is only in memory used, make it as option (on/off), or include it only in OP version? Btw, sorry that a non-programmer dares to comment, but can't it be done like:

1. User X on hub Y writes a PM.

2. The client immediately writes down to some (*.txt?) file a line of a kind "Time/User/Hubname" (how much memory this will require?).

3. If user X goes offline and you want to see the hub name, you click on "Detailed" button somewhere or write f. ex. /all in the PM line.

4. The client refers to the above file and gives you the hub name.

I think that if the client works in this way, with only one record at a time, memory usage will not be increased visibly. The *.txt could be limited in size, i. e. the user could define how much lines (entries, PMs) it will keep. Also option "clear on program exit, etc."

Please, forgive me. You know, a PC fears most from a software specialist with screwdriver, a hardware specialist with program and a user with idea. Haven't I said that before? :)

with the number of adultfinder spam bots growing on DC.. its really becoming an issue as of late. we as hub owners block every one we find.. however, if they come out with a new way to beat the bots we create, or scanners, then we don't know which hub they were in when they first posted the message to us. if it showed what hub they where in when you get the message *** User went offline [7gb[Tuzilk] [Offline]] *** changing it to include the title of the hub or some defining way. maybe in the op client itself though most bots wont spam ops. dunno.. just trying to find more ways to block adult finder and other spam bots.. so if its not able to be implemented now.. atleast set it on the back burner for future to review

Yeah, it would definatly get used, extra memory use? I'd be willing to accept that if it was included in an OP version probably. Although OPs don't n ormally get spammed by users, but lets not get into that, lol.
