  1. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Final

    Sigh since no one seems to understand the forced upgrade im going to let the dc developer blog do the talking. What the update is stopping http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2007/05/22/denyi...ibuted-attacks/ How its doing it http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2009/01/14/dc-ctm-proof/ So enough about the forced upgrade, no matter what modern client you use it will have the SAME updated feature. Also from the DC homepage Posted By: pietricica Date: 2009-03-07 06:32 Summary: DC++: 0.750 is out This is a project aimed at producing a file sharing client using the ADC protocol. It also supports connecting to the Direct Connect network. 0.750 marks the moment where the migration to MinGW is mature enough to call DC++ a full MinGW compliant application. This release improves the program functionality and how it works on your system. Major enhancements include : openssl fix for older libraries, fixed major known crashes, updated help, minor GUI features, new interface for settings page, and the REF extension for NMDC and ADC that allow peers attacked by the CTM exploit(willingly or unwillingly) to find out the corrupted hub that is used for attacking. Have fun using DC++ ! I have stayed civil during this. Crise is going to do what he feels is right regardless of user personal feelings.
  2. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Final

    Of course the upgrade is necessary regardless of personal feelings regarding older versions, said exploit was being use to ddos the hublists on dc so users couldnt find other hubs therefore bottlenecking users trying to learn dc. Microsoft also more or less forces an upgrade as well, Its called ending support for a older product. Any time you turn your xbox on to play a game while hooked into xboxlive it forces you to update or you cant play the game. ALL DC creators should force the upgrade to clients with the REF extension as well.
  3. Nah dude, I read all of it. I just meant to say with users who cannot even forward ports, whats the chance that the support forum wouldnt get flooded with the same similar questions. Another issue would be for those whose ISP's throttle bittorrent traffic. I understand its an IDEA, Im just trying to get some issues out of the way at the IDEA stage.
  4. would need to have a whole new set of ports for the torrent bit, users have enough trouble configuring active mode...
  5. Compiling ApexDC++

    Recent apex builds require VS 2008, i'm surprised you could compile in 2k5
  6. Public Hub List

    If your running an ip filtering program such as peerguardian check to see if the hublist server is being filtered as a bad ip. to get the ip you are going to open the command prompt and type nslookup [hublist name here] and hit enter your going to take that IP and see if it is in your blocklist logs. if it is right click on it and choose allow permanently.
  7. ip guard

    In short if you don't understand/know how to use it, you more than likely don't need it. It is fairly self explanatory.
  8. Windows 7 Beta

    They reupped it because of server problems http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx Enjoy
  9. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Beta

    Clientdirectory or settings folder look for exception.txt
  10. ApexDC for external HDDs

    First off Big Muscle is the creator of StrongDC which ApexDC is based on, so you should listen to what he says. If its done that way in StrongDC then there must be a reason for it. Also use proper etiquette when on a forum. :)
  11. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Beta

    Thank you lee, atleast someone got it...
  12. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Beta

    My point was that it was added to the ORIGINAL DC++ client source code, it has nothing to do with apexdc code... So in turn whats in DC++ is IN ApexDC++.
  13. Released: ApexDC++ 1.2.0 Beta

    Little info regarding that http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2007/05/22/denyi...tacks/#comments Also checking the DC++ changelog we find the following: 0.709 - * Disallow fake connections to a few known hub list servers (poy) 0.692 - * Added warning when someone tries to spam hublist.org or dcpp.net with your client So removal would not be an option :lol:
  14. Compiling ApexDC++

    you need Visual Studio 2008 and express versions will not work because of missing dependencies
  15. been discussed before, next time use the search function http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=2747 http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=2471 http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=2299 http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=1542 http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=596 http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=54 I was nice and saved you the time of looking ;)
