If everybody uses ApexDC++ and uses the emoticon pack it uses by default, they will see the emoticons. It is the same as MSN, yahoo, etc. If you use an alternative, such as trillian you won't see some of the emoticons and the ones you do see will be different. Now though MSN has custom emoticons, and the other users just download them "on-the-fly", however this is not practical to implement as you may have 2000 users on a hub and whether it is you or the server which uploads this to every user, that's a lot of bandwidth needed for just one emoticon.

I don;t think it's that realistic to implement easily, personally I just change the priority of stuff. I wouldn't mind more priority options though... there's only like 5 or something now, 10 would actually be useful, especially for when you want to queue to loads of stuff if you're going away for a while and are not sure how long you'll be gone for.

Done. As for the actual feature request, sure it'd be nice to have but it's really something which isn't possible, and it's not really what DC is about. Not only would it be hard to code, but it would also be hard to intergrate into the GUI I would have thought. For that kind of stuff I just use MSN, but it has the serious flaw of not being resumable... although I have transfered films over MSN previously.

Nah, it increases the chance of it being you over another random sharer. Yet, it decreases the chance of the authorities being interested in the first place.

Know what you mean, but the whole portal thing can still be the same as it currently is? ...not that we use the portal. There's definatly improvements there, a lot of the removing the need to refresh, which is good.

This would be complicated, the only kind of way I can see of doing this would involve more useless symbols for clients that don;t have emoticons, and would also require the other user tohave the emoticon too. All you need to do is have one emoticon massive emoticon pack which everyone uses... that;d be the simplest way, although I can think of a slightly less simple way which would be more useful.

I'd use it.... I think the easier option though is to just have confirm on exit enabled. Zlobomir, it's not able the code, it's more just the fact it's another random option to have buried in the settings. I think Crise (quite reasonably) that the Settings should not be cluttered up with options such as these which he sees as pointless, it will only complicate the settings.

Downloading and will seed too, may get a few users. :)

Uploading/downloading copyrighted materials without permission is illegal. To help against being prosecuted there are small things you can do like enable the option to send garbage on upload/download. However, there is no safe option.... sticking to private hubs would help, but the only way to truely be safe is to not upload/download illegal/copyrighted material. However, I would not say the risk of being caught if you are sharing copyrighted material is high.

Hmm, that's very weird. Would have thought such a large/well-known network (recognise those OP names) would know a little better. I would just put it down to the fact Apex hasn't been out long compared to PWDC or SDC.

Can you download other files though? LIke, via search? ...can you even search? The likely hood is that your connection settings are not configured coorrectly.

You can't just Shift-RightClick on a DCTMP file, why? That is what you do in explroer to get the Open With... option? ...maybe I've not used explorer in so long I've forgotten, but I'm pretty sure? :S

I'm not too sure what you want, but if it included the masking (hiding) of IPs it won;t happen.... limits of the internet/DC protocol. :ermm:
