Now we just have to make sure most teams will read this and agree. Not an easy task. :P

Yeah, but he pretends that when file is downloaded via http or torrents, all is OK in terms of accessing... erm? Or he is using AVIPreview?
-
IMHO he is in the beginning, running the install.bat. If you have changed anything in your VS dirs, open the install.bat (RMB>Edit) for editing, see the path required, and change this path acc. to your setup. F. ex. I had no enough place on my C: drive.
-
No, by "crap" I meant just corrupted. Regardless of playing files, please run f. ex. All Media Fixer on them. If there are no errors, I am ready to look at this again. :P

AFAIK, yes, perfectly set. 0 means ignore/disable.

Being an OP in several hubs with autochecking FL on, I notice the following: 1. I can't make my protected prefixes to work, and I keep to download from VIPs and etc. Please paste me here a working example with the use of * and ; , thanks in advance. 2. The actual idea - for OPs, who are in a network, say in TAN - many hubs with plenty one and the same users. Each time my connection drops me, I start to download loads of FLs and eventually piss off many, many people. Since the OPs have the IP, share and nick info, I suggest the FL to be downloaded only once per user, and if smth is wrong, to be reported in all the hubs, in which the user is in. Sorry if this is so already... 3. An option "Do not download FL if downloaded X days/hours or less" or smth like this. I imagine this one like another xml or a section in the existing ones, with the following info - user nick, user IP, user share, even FL TTH, last downloaded. And even "Download if TTH is different". Excuse if these ideas are difficult or stupid, but imo will be very useful for most OPs, and in fact not very difficult. And with the unknown status of the OP version, why not do it now? :)

If it is a program fault, it MUST be sorted. But if my theory is right (and you are just downloading crap, except when you use SDC/Apex), I am very happy. You can download what you want, unfortunately there are many as you, some of them will reshare the crap, and we all will end in crap. IF I am right with this explanation, it is like not supporting NMDC filelists - just for good.
-
Yeah, I support with both hands, and Sidey explained it really well. Still, imho the newer (the better) protocol should be put as a standard, since it is far more flexible.
-
My theory: SDC checks TTH on the fly, I was fighting with a similar case before, although not big files. And after getting the video file via HTTP and running a fixing program over it - a miracle, it was transferring Apex to Apex. btw, before fixing, I was having a still picture from it. So, if I am right, and if this "bug" prevents from spreading crappy files over the peers, be it!

Yes, worked for me a couple of times before, even with small shares (up to 100GB), I think it was around client update. But I can't remember whether I was getting CRC then.

It looks more and more like either we will have only one edition, which obviously will have to "adopt" some OP features, or smo will have to code the OP edition, as there are not any news from Skynet. :)
-
Well, in my guess things are developing, coders inventing %[userCS] as shorter and more convenient. And it is good to be like the other strings, in equal format, so all changed. Not a real problem btw, as long as there are text editors with Replace function. And IMO you will like the next public release of Apex. :)

Yes, about an hour later than Balder's try, all was OK acc. to my browsing.
-
Have you changed defaults in Simultaneous downloads, Buffer sizes, or similar?
-
Actually why users write support posts in the guide section? IMO it is better to lock the guides, and send all updates, if any, via PM to Staff.
-
Check where it writes, the folder might be system protected (semi-gray read-only). there is a registry fix for this, but please confirm first...
-
I am really hesitating, both of you have some right, but still it is the user to decide. If we accept Noctis is right, user must not have the choice to exclude a single file, and OPs will be kicking all the time for installed files. On the other hand, if user is about to "steal", he can use X number of clients/instances for it. I am for different shares per hub.
-
I better not be specific and put you on wrong tracks, but afaicr there was a bot or smth, able to enter in 2+ hubs and so users writing to it are in a kind of "common chat room". Also you can see http://dc.hovel.ru/forum_43 . Nice bot collection and idea is available on: http://www.yhubita.com/index.php?pag=bot
-
Please provide some hubsoft info. A bot or script MIGHT be capable of this.
-
What is the file name (PM)? What is the file system on the drive? Have you scanned your HDD/RAM for errors?
-
For your problem, please do a speed test on some site (Google must have the link I lack now), and also see what happens with both options "Send garbage to... (avoid ISP P2P throttling)" enabled. These are in File>Settings>Advanced.

Thanks also to you and ejs1920 for the investigation. Sorry for my late reply, but forums were offline.

Yes indeed, and if possible to make all users with + before nick, so you can open and look this info longer, like in Windows Explorer.
