No bugs or crashes to report. This is the client running on my server machine and its stats...decent uptime thought it may or may not be useful...Will report stats again when I reboot the server (HopeFully not for a while)

  2. <%[myNI]> +report %[userNI] is sharing forbidden files containing: %[userCS]|

Give this a shot almost all Hub Softwares and Scripts support the report function. In fact its an OP report your looking for cause if you were informing a user then you could use the !inform command. I used this raw at one point investigating a constant fake share issue in a hub.

  3. I had this issue in other versions like 0.4.0 and a few alphas with it hanging and not responding while downloading. It seemed to not exist when the later alphas and the new B3 was released. Now in B4 it is back. It only happens when downloading or doing client/file checks and getting decent speeds. Will report more if I notice anything else in theory with it.

  4. Opera is a fast browser by far. But Opera in my opinion doesn't have the customizing available that Firefox has. My vote was Firefox and I have tried Opera and when the day is over I missed my Firefox.

  5. I am liking the turn out on this subject. Me and Loco and some others from my network in DC were discussing this so we thought we would bring it to the table to see if its possible. If anyone has more ideas to this lets hear them after all its everyones client.

  6. I like that bottom one. I like the current one I got to..Maybe we can talk Lee into adding a thread were peeps could post there creations. I would like to see more peeps using userbars especially from apex on forums. What do you say Lee is it possible?

  7. Looking good guys. 18 hour uptime not one bug to report. There are a few feature request running on the board right now I would like to see implemented. Check them out when you guys got time and see if these are possible features we could do.

  8. How about adding an on of switch like DCDM had to turn checks on and off. In previous versions its been an up and down battle to turn them on and off as I don't want them running all the time. In B3 I could uncheck it and they would stop but in B4 it seems that isn't the case. Either way I think it would be an efficient thing to add and put into the toolbar icons.

  9. I think this would be a great idea. Maybe a separate manager under the appearances to where we could make them the color we want and possibly develop that into the theme settings for Apex. It would make tabbing a bit easier and would give a bit more customizing to the client.

  10. I don't have the stats as this was previous. But when I hosted TGO on backup it was up 5 days 17 hours and such. I will revert back to logs and try to track the stats down as I remember posting them in main chat of TGO.

  11. I would like to see the EXE bad file check that some clients are offering now. I have ran into quit a few of these that are viruses and I think it would be a nice feature to help in security on DC.

  12. Hi, if i emulate Dc++ in a hub, what exactly happens. Are some of the features in apexdc disabled. If so, which ones?

    M

When you emulate Apex or whatever client you are running with the emulating feature appears to the hub as running strictly DC++ it changes the look of your tag and the myinfo sent to the hub and users.

  13. This is an old help file I had laying around maybe someone has a more up to date list to help you out.

    DC++ : Using DC++ :

What do the different icons mean?

    Answer:

In general the following is true:

l Bricks: Passive mode user (note, this does not mean people without bricks are active, just that

the one with bricks is passive for sure. This is detected when that user searches or tries to

    connect to you)

l Blue: DC++ user (again, not blue does not mean not DC++, this is detected when the user tries to

connect to you or when you try to connect to him)

Read this FAQ for the difference between a passive and active mode user.

Why do I need active mode?

    Answer:

In passive mode, DC++ will only make outbound connections to other users. All searches will be sent

through the hub, and search results will be returned through the hub as well. DC++ will return a

maximum of 5 search hits for a passive user. Passive users cannot download from other passive users.

Passive mode is an extra strain on hubs, so please do not use it unless you must. DC++ users in

passive mode will have M:P in their DC++ tag.

That being said, active mode on DC++ will make inbound and outbound connections to other users. All

searches will be sent through the hub, and search results will be returned directly from active mode

users and through the hub for the passive users. Active users can download from either active and

passive users. Obviously that means you can connect to a larger group of people.

  14. Ok so once again I ask. What does this have to do with ApexDC++. DC is more then just file transfers. Its a community and alot of things to offer. Also whatever it has to do with a linux client I totally don't understand. I think you don't understand the concept of Direct Connect. Try sharing that amount of files over an instant messenger it don't work. Anyhow I appreciate your idea but I think your off base at what were trying to accomplish. If I am wrong someone please respond and explain what he is wanting.

  15. Hey just wondering when a pidgin plugin (www.pidgin.im) will be released. The extra software download is good, but a plugin for this communicator would be even better!!!! No more need to develop a linux client. Whatdday say?

Explain this. What does this have to do with Apex? Maybe I ain't seeing it but isn't this a bit pointless? Secondly what does it have to do with a linux client?

  16. Hi everyone

I have just one little question regarding the OP-version of ApexDC++!

Why do you not work together with other developpers?

I know that zk++ Black Edition or OP-edition will be based on ApexDC++! So why do you not work together to get a real good OP-version with ApexDC++ core? That would be a great experience! Or am I wrong?

    Regards.

    Baba.runner

To put it simple all developers have different outlooks on what they wanna see in a client. For instance zK++ isn't a developed project. It is a simply a mod that Lord Sabbath built for himself and lets others have and see it. I personally think its a bad idea cause there are so many client dev's out there who think the best clients fake share slot lock fake there tag or some other sort of hack. ApexDC is the only true supported client not loaded with this other type of b.s.. Even Big Muscle supports the project as the Apex Core is based from StrongDC++. Again another fine "legal" non hacked faking client (Hats off to Big Muscle). I think we have a good thing going here and I personally as a beta tester, Supporter, and Apex user don't wanna see the merge of multiple dev's cause it just going to cause issues as they want all these in my opinion worthless features and the Apex team has a good concept on what the DC community wants...Please take no offense to this post its just how I see it. The Ascendent Network, Friends Unlimited Network and ApexDC++ team are doing as Sidetrack puts it "Ascending" (Meaning to make better) the DC community by bringing us together and to stop the hatred and wars between hubs, networks and who's client can do what. ApexDC is simply put...One step closer to the evolution to stop the continuing troubles on DC. Keep up the good work guys and lets make Apex the best client there is and ever will be.
