  1. Show us your desktop

    Heh, nice desktop Sidey, love the background. :w00t: Personally I don't like the windows explorer shell, so I use blackbox. More customization, simplier, quicker, more stable. Eye-cany isn't a big priority for me so my desktop is fairly simple: Greg's Desktop
  2. When will ApexDC++ be released?

    Haha, I don't intend to ead release dates or anything. My point wasn't that they'd know actual dates though, more that they'd know the progress of the project in the run-up to release and be able to give a more accurate estimate at a completion date than someone who was not. :w00t:
  3. PWDC/Apex Themes

    Mine is very bland so it's probably not worth posting. I just have normal black on white with usernames in bold, my username in bold red and my messages in bold to. Other than that it's all normal black text on a white background with light grey timestamps.
  4. System Requirements

    I would argue that you need more RAM (DC++ may be able to work on this? But I think that most of its mods would require a bit more.) I would also argue that although you can use it with a 56k modem that's more of a DC++ requirement. With multisourcing clients a fast connection is kind of required/better. I guess that these requests (the later one at least) would only be recommended requirements and not the minimum ones.
  5. A Bunch of Requests

    Heh, it would be nice if you could just choose the toolbar icons from files which contained icons.. if that makes any sense? It is fair enough though to not want to do that, I'd have no idea how to do it, you may not, and even if you did it would may not be worth the effort just for this relatively small feature.
  6. Marker Line

    It's just that if you are in the middle of a conversation and then have to go to another hub, or do something else on your computer, or even walk off for a few seconds you can quickly come back to where you were and continue the conversation more easily. You can see if there has been a reply to your question or whatever. Thanks for moving the topic too, Greg
  7. Fix: "Not enough space on disk"

    Yep, I agree. If you intend to only use Windows as most people do then NTFS is better really.
  8. The ability to clear screens.

    So basically we can't be innovative, alright fine. In the words of Alan Kay the computer scientist who worked on early OOP (Object-Orientated Programming): "The best way to predict the future is to invent it."
  9. Basically I like to clear the chat quite often, but typing /clear all the time is rather annoying. I would like some more functionality in respect to this to be added. Firstly, (and most easily I would assume) I would like for a 'Clear' option to be added to the right-click of PMs and MCs. Also, I would an option for this to be added to the 'Window' menu. Basically, I would like to see options to "Clear All", "Clear All Main Chat", "Clear All Private Messages" and "Clear All Chatrooms". I'm not too sure as to how doable the last one would be but PWDC++ does seem to distingish between PMs and chatrooms at current though (based on the fact it does not go orange in the status bar upon a new message in a chatroom). (Not sure as to how possible the following is:) Furthermore, there is more functionabilty I would like to see added to the ability to "screen" windows. I would like the /clear command to have more individual features. At current PWDC++ can distingish between General text, system messages, server messages etc..(As is evident from the ability to change the colour and font of these.) I would like the ability to clear say only cat and not system messages or server messages, and viceversa. Furthermore, (again don't know how possible this is) I would like the ability to only clear non-OP (keyed so that would include [hub]bots and stuff too) that from the screen. If this is doable they would all be able to do via the /clear command. So if you type "/clear op" it will clear all non-OP messages, or "/clear chat" would leave server and system messages. Also, I would like the abilty to be able to do more than one at once (not sure how possible this would be too) so if you did "/clear chat-op" would clear all the chat but leave OP messages... or "/clear chat+op" kinda confused myself now but you are hopefully understanding anyway. Additionally, I would like the "Clear All Private(/Personal) Messages" etc options to be in the /clear command. So you could do say "/clear allpm" or "/clear all pm". The command "/clear all" would just clear everything too. Also what the /clear command does by default could be adjusted via some more settings (not required but useful). So it could be set to clear just hubs or just PMs, or set to clear all but OP messages by default. However, if this came into effect "/clear" would no longer (unless left on the default settings) just do what it does now, so another command would be needed, which can be anything... "/clear w" (short for window) would do. Yet another feature I would like to see added is the ability to clear all the chat that is oder than a certain amount of seconds (or minutes I guess) so you don't lose all recent chat when the screen is cleared, just the old previously read chat. Again this could be set within the Settings for the default value. When manually doing it and wanting to clear only older messages the format could be something like "/clear 600" for 600seconds (10mins) or even "/clear 10m" depending on how it was setup. Thanks for reading, Greg P.S: Damn, that was quite a long post.
  10. Some off-topic chatter

    Heh no, never tried for it... have you?
  11. IPB 2.1.5 and Update

    Heh, anybody actually used the reputation mod? Only time I used it was to test it. Hmm... maybe we'll see it get used though.
  12. When will ApexDC++ be released?

    Well, 64% of the voters have already lost. :w00t: I also think it's unlikely that it'll be out this month... very unlikely. You know what the best thing to do is? Wait untill RC11 is out and then try and predict how long it'll take for them to made the change and customization for ApexDC++. However, you may find that they lock this thread of something then, if not then you may even want to try and force info out of current beta testers or donators? Lol, but that's only if you only care about the beta tester status, hopefully this is jsut a bit of fun. :lol:
  13. When Do You Guys Expect ...

    This is why no release date has been set and we have a thread for the guessing of the release date. The fact is we cannot accuratly predict it, just like BigMuscle can't. I know it's hard to wait, I can be rather impatient too, but unfortunatly I don't think there is much of a choice. We would not like to give a date and then simply fail to meet it. Hopefully I'll have ApexDC++ on my computer soon enough though. :w00t:
  14. Fix: "Not enough space on disk"

    The main disadvantage to NTFS as oppsoed to FAT32 is that it's less compatible with Linux. If use FAT32 then Linux can still read and write to your drives, but with NTFS you can't write to it (well, not properly, yet at least). This an be a disadvantage but for non-Linux users it's not a worry, and Linux users will probably already know this. However, as it happens today I saw a case where if FAT32 had been sued it would have saved a lot of hassle. Someone I know had some spyware on there computer and by booting up with a Linux live CD they could simply removed the files which were causing the damager (they could not boot in safe mode). Unfortunatly they are using the NTFS filesystem (it is better really) and this rendered it impossible basically to remove it with Linux.
  15. Some off-topic chatter

    Yeah I wanna buy the DVD too, but the fanclub is awesome now really. Before it was just you got the the stuff and the forums were kinda crappy. But since earlier this year/the end of last they bought some decent forums and have live chat there too which are much better. They also have live chats with the band members every once in a while which is cool. Even if you miss a chat the transcripts are kept afterwards which may sound like a small thing but if you missed anything it's interesting to read it, see what they're favorite bands are, hardest songs to play and all that boring stuff. Definatly worth the cash. :D
  16. Switching from DC++ to ApexDC++

    I assume a RAR version will be included? It may be with just having an upgrade package too with the (two?) needed files for upgrade, again distributed in two formats. The RAR for people who want that and an installer for more "normal" users or whatever, it could just check if they had it installed to the default directory (%ProgramFiles%\AppexDC** or whatever). The installer upgrade may even not be worth the trouble, but I do think it may worth doing if you intend to have other mirrors as it would save bandwidth. Sure most of the filesize is just the main files that are needed in the upgrade, but the emoticons must take a bit of space and is AVIPreview included? It may not be worth doing, might be worth thinking about if bandwidth is cared about though?
  17. PeerWeb DC++ downloads

    It would be impossible for there sources to "offical" versions to be closed, that would be in violation of the license under which DC++ is released. PW/ApexDC++ and StrongDC++ are both DC++ mods.
  18. Some off-topic chatter

    Damn you're lucky... I didn't get to see them unfortunatly. They did say then that is was to be like there last tour/album... that seems less likely to me? They still rock. Again, this reminds me... i need to renew my megafanclub membership... ran out on the first of the month. :w00t: Good to see another 'deth fan on the forums, there doesn't tend to be that many about.
  19. 1,000 Members

    200 posters? Damn, not bad.
  20. Some off-topic chatter

    Omg, you're a 'deth fan? I'm a 'deth obsessive. :)
  21. IPB 2.1.5 and Update

    Not = Now ?
  22. The ability to clear screens.

    Because it's useful? Just because something isn't in any other program doesn't mean it should be.
  23. Remember searches

    Yeah I can see the use for this, not sure how the best way to put it in would be though...
  24. Basically when I look through the settings I find it very hard to find a particular settings with a lot of the sections looking the same with just a load of tickboxes. I would like to see these options grouped together into tree menus, much like when you select what you want to share. Thanks, Greg
  25. The ability to clear screens.

    Hmm... alright. There's quite a few things there which would be useful t implement but I'm not sure how possible they actually are.
