  1. per hub customization

They should be able to use the existing hash index to create an FL, ie the client keeps an overall Hash index and then you omit said index's as per each hubs file list. Quote function also works for me :)
  2. Well that won't be too much of a problem after Apex is done theirs hehe. Though ya stopping OP clients from being able to connect to Apex would indeed not be a good idea. Mainly because that sort of thing Ops don't like.
  3. For Hungarista

Works perfectly. Thanks ever so much I owe you one :)

  6. [SUPPORT] TLS or Port Help Needed

Try setting it to the same as your TCP port Though should be noted I fail the connection check as well but hvae no problem getting into active mode ... is it possible it's something else?
  7. per hub customization

hmm good question. and ya on paper is always a little difference then in practice.
  8. For Hungarista

Thanks so much. The only thing that doesn't quite work as expected is when I do -show regpending it shows that the whole file. instead of the ones whom haven't been processed yet. I think... I'll be able to figure that out.... I dunno so but I'll tell you what it should be doing when showpending is run. Showpending takes all the user entires that have a 0 in them and shows only them. Then when we go to reg them it saves them to the file with a 1 instead (to signify they have registered) other then that it works great, so thank you very much and don't worry about the lag I understand I have my own exams apporaching as well. Thanks again and I think I'll be able to fix it from what you have to what we need it to do . Thanks
  9. [Bug] File lists out of sync

Hmm... So let me get this straight the users share has been updated. However you had tried to get a file from him, but he possibly deleted it/ moved it in mid download, thus when you tried to resume it failed. Now when you try to get said users file list it crashes. And you only see the old filelist? so curious about what version of Apex are you running? I'll Assume 0.3.0 for now. it still could be on the other users end as well, perhaps his file list isn't updating correctly, or perhaps it has and does not send the correct one. As for possibilities on your end try moving his stored file list on your side out of the apex folder and then re downloading his. Then compare them using notepad or by size etc. if you aren't getting a new file list then it will likely not be your problem , Apex may be crashing then (if it's not your problem) because the file list being sent has an anomaly in it and Apex can't handle for some reason. if they aren't the same anymore well hopefully the problem is fixed... but I think it would be interesting for you to post said filelist up here so we could check it against our own clients perhaps in some way or form. Hope this helps...
  10. per hub customization

Ya sorta.. like the username thing. so... in favourites:: if field is void, get default settings otherwise broadcast these settings to hub. ::Edit:: so.. since Apex keeps track of which hub the user is downloading from, you could set it so that Hub A is allowed 4 slots... while hub b might be allowed 1 I think... that works
  11. connection problem

Good to know this was semi "broken" in V. 0.2.0 was it not? Just making sure I'm not going crazy hehe.
  12. connection problem

Try leaving you bind address set to 0.0.0.0 and then in your Firewall with port forwarding section ensure that it's your 24.*.*.* Ip address. I find that at least for me the getIPAddress button returns my network IP(192.168.something.something) and not my WAN IP(24.something.something). So Just make sure it's getting the right one This is how I have Apex set up myself through a D-Link 524 router and everything works .
  13. Feature Requests

yes much better then sending a pm :)
  14. Blocking specific IP's in ApexDC++

provding you put an Ip and not *** yes I belive *95% sure *
  15. Feature Requests

Not sure if I follow... so here.. You want to have an auto function, that pm's someone who is downloading from you with multiple instances from the same IP address... so say if user A had two connections to you you would send User A a PM requesting that he not download from both slots? However if User B has 1 connection to you not to send any pms?
  16. connection problem

Hehe Thanks amp I forgot to mention that it seems :)
  17. Feature Requests

What would be the purpose of this feature?
  18. toolbar messed up

I don't belive they are supporting Peerweb much anymore, try connectin to techgeeks.geekgalaxy.com:1411 (a hub) and I think they can help you there with peerweb. However my suggestion is if you like peerweb just upgrade to Apex 0.3.0 It will serve you all the same with improvements Cheers
  19. connection problem

You need to make sure you have your ports forwarded through your router. Check out www.portforward.com and then you need to set it to Firewall with portward. put in the ports that you've forward the porceeded by your IP address (your WAN IP address as opposed to the 192.168 one) . Also follow DC++'s forwarding instructions on portforward.com all the info goes in the same spots in Apex . Hope this helps solve your problem.
  20. Little Help Please

Psst I know that hub owner hehe... Why he didn't email me I don't know hehe but now I have to find him and help him out it's a private run hub on campus so ya reg is required hehe on a side note DanRobin pm me and I'll help you out since well I'm the hub owner/head admin what happened is we went from YN to Ptokax hehe (we had orignally switch to Yn for a few weeks while I was getting help to fix our scripts etc) so now that I have most of the scripts running I Switched it back to ptokax hehe though on why my user came here.... I have no idea hehe most likely he just needs to input his password and it'll all be fixed though, thanks for looking out for my users ;)

    Here you go :) AutoReg.rar
  22. [Support] Does Multisource adversely affect hubs?

The only thing to argue against multi-source is that if segments are set too high you use too many slots on the hub, but with the way Apex has set it up I don't belive this to be an issue, as the max is 10 and quite often even when I have 10+ sources I only download from 2 or 3 of them even if they all have open slots. :D
  23. We force our Users to use Apex or DC.698 anyway (well and shakespeer for those darn macs as well as Valknut for our linux group). But It'd be ok with me I guess but we don't get too many non TTH clients on our hub.
  24. Yes but to go back to an older style of hashing, would increase cpu usage immensely, mainly because now when ever you have to hash a file you have to do it twice in two different ways, keep two separate hash tables, etc. Now while I think backwards compat. is an awesome thing, there's only so far you can go. As far as I know oDC has not been updated in a few years, since then most clients have moved on to Tiger Tree hashing, which seems to be the superior form, however is not compat. with the older styles used by NMDC. So its a trade off do you want a sleek low cpu usage client, or a more sluggish one that allows more people to connect? To me it's more important to have a smooth running client, because in the end that's what people will want. As much as it'd be nice to have every compatible it's almost like saying I want my Atari Game console to be able to play missile command with an Xbox 360 *bit of an extreme example yes I know* but I think the point is still made that DC++ in general has advanced past the old style of hashing and other clients need to upgrade with the rest of the community to keep up. An easier way to do it, if you wanted to add backwards compatibility would be somehow have the hubsoft run a sort of conversion program between the older clients and the newer ones. Now I don't think that would be easy either. Now while it's great to have backwards compatibility again I think it's to the users advantage to upgrade to newer software, if gives them better preformance and overall will aide advance the DC community.
  25. For Hungarista

ok so in the rukus folder there is a list.dat file this file takes input from the website (you don't have to worry about that that part works and is seperate) now in rukus.lua there is the command showpending which looks in list.dat to see if anyone needs to be registered. so a registered user looks like this in list.dat:: :!:[uvic]username:!:password:!:email@somedomain.com:!:1:!: while unregistered look like this:: :!:[uvic]username:!:password:!:email@somedomain.com:!:0:!: *the 1 signifies registered 0 not registered* then when an op user the command !showrepending it list all unregistered users in the file if there are unregistered users the op then uses the command :: !regpending # (if they only want to reg a specific person) or !regpending 411 (to reg all unregistered users) so regpending must loop through using the !addreguser username password reg command with fields completed as nessary and then save to list.dat so that it shows as registered. I think that's all you need to know if you need more let me know :)
