Hi, So minor thing I suppose but I think it'll clean the client up. When downloading segments with the pop up icons on, the user gets notified ever time a segment finishes and starts, it would be better imo if we could have it only when a download fully completes and starts fresh . ~ bigcanuck

The more you describe this the more it sounds ISP related, I would suggest if you are able to go to this DC hub:: techgeeks.geekgalaxy.com:1411 and speak to one of the Apex Admins on there live so that they can see what is going on from their side as well. on a side note... And I'm looking to Crise, Lee on this one I guess is how is Apex running on vista in general (aka fully supported?)? I know you said it's happened in both XP and now Vista... but going active may have fixed it in XP normally so I'm not sure if its completly compatwith Vista. So ya, go to the techgeeks hub and chat with one of the Apex admins, they are really quite helpful there and might be able to aide in getting you online.

software will not kick you offline.... well... shouldn't and I can't think of a case where it has the power to do that. I'm assuming you have a large enough bandwidth to handle a hub transfer or torrent transfer... if your getting chocked it sounds like Zob said isp related. If you do any online gaming how is that? any problems with that (or any none file sharing soft)? The only other thing it sounds like is a virus in general which disables your lan connection (though this I doubt but is plausible).

This is hub soft related. They may not be sending one at the momment, (ask someone else in the hub to be sure) however it should be noted that it is possible if they are sending tooo much info it gets past the line limit in main chat.

would of thought that would of been logical... *shakes head* oh well what are you gonna do hehe.

Will Do! :) -
seems every week or so two or three more people switch to apex in my hub :)
-
They are in ApecDC/Settings/Favourites.xml

hmm... ok well then this is a weird issue, my ops run solely Apex 0.4.0 on my hub which is also running PtokaX 0.3.5.2 and we haven't experienced any problems. However that being said my hub runs on a Lan so that may change things as well. Unfortunetly I'm not the biggest expert on Apex code errors I'm good at trouble shooting though. Hopefully someone else with more experiance will come on and can use the info garned from the two of us. In regards to your Ops, are they relatively close in geographical locations? Ie is it easy for them to connect normally? Also have any of them tried uninstalling then reinstalling apex?
-
What hub soft are you guys running? And is it only with ops? or does it effect normal users as well?

Apex with Kaspersky Anti Hacker and Anti Virus

Should be noted that I'm using AVG 7.5 Internet Security Professional with no problems either. (for whom ever is looking into this) But yes make sure your incoming is allowed as well as out going. -
apparently a bit.. lol

Kinda curious... what's the need for such a complicated pass?

OK so one of my users has had this Crash happen twice now. While downloading Apex disconnected all connections and then froze his computer for a good 5 minutes and shut down Apex He was doing watching a video on Windows Media Player Both times And he is Running Windows XP He is also using V 0.4.0 There was no Exception Info generated either. I will update further on here if more information becomes available. ~Bigcanuck

For question 1 I'm not really sure what your asking exactly so some clarity on that would be nice please. However as for question two This may be possibly a bug, or a limitation of emulation so this is in the wrong section of the forum to get the right attention I imagine it won't be long till Crise or Lee see it and move it to the right section but ya. Either of them can also both answer your 2nd question better than I could.

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

seems to me that this sometimes happens for no reason almost, though it can have many factors. I myself generally have this problem when I try to connect to European hubs (since I'm from North America), which leads me to conclude that it might have a distance factor in it. However it happens also occasionally with my own hub which, well it sits approx 5 feet from me so... ya :S it's a bit odd sometimes. I've seen it because the address isn't right, because the hub is simply too busy with too many people trying to connect (ie after a server reboot) but ya. Not sure if any of that will help but I thought if I popped my info in there too someone else might be able to draw a line in between all our points. -
So pretty much what it says, when you refresh your file list when you add a file or when it auto does it, I think it would be nice to have a prgress bar running somewhere on the UI like maybe super imposed on your share amount on the bottom left corner. This way you know when things are done hashing so you can post that it's added etc. Just a thought.
-
exactly I know when stuff is hashed but when I add a bunch of file I wouldn't mind knowning how long is left
-
Dc .674 had this option *hasn't used it since that version but I'd imagine that its still there*.
-
personnally I use 15000 in all three slots
-
Now I'm assuming this is happening on every hub you connect to correct? Try connecting randomly to some new hubs, it is possible it's hub side to my knowledge. Espeacially if the person your downloading from is a greater distance then normal from you. What kind of hubs are you connecting to etc? How long have you been connected to those hubs? it just helps us guage if it's hub side or client side :)
-
Hmm... I guess this is possible however you can make your own command in Apex already to do this since /g string does google and /imdb string searches as well Though I must admit TV.com would be an awesome add.
-
To get out of passive mode you would need to know the ISP's routers WAN IP.. I think.. and I don't see how you could get that info. Assumably you've tried using the get IP function in Apex? better yet can you tell us what you have done so I don't repeat anything you've already done (aka give you useless info)
-
hehe everything must be done carefully :)

couldn't they perhaps shut apex down, open the queue.xml (providing the files haven't "finished") edit it still and not loose quite everything? sure they'll have to redownload a lot maybe but might not loose everythign if they have a few still pending?
