if the problem exists in SDC 2. most likely its an SDC base code issue, however that does not fix the problem.. my guess is the upnp function is still trying to activate even when disabled you and i have discussed this extensively in TGO.. but I have not found a resoultion for it yet.. first one to find it wins..

please NOTE, Almost EVERY university I have seen on DC, blocks the ACTIVE status on the ports, therefore you must use passive mode in your DC client in order to do much of anything. Also to ALL University of Nottingham users, if you are banned from the hub please contact Me @ theascendentnetwork@gmail.com, someone is searching for illegal files, thus is getting the entire campus banned as they only have like 3 external Ip addresses.. Not sure if this will help but one of our projects (not apex related) is to create a "Chat only" HTTP client, there are a few that work. but not well.. of course, this means you cant download, but it also protects you from said gov officials too.. and allows you to chat with your friends virtually anywhere.. if this is inappropriate to conversation plz ignore it..

if this helps.. not sure. I moved my servers to win2k3, and now I dont have this problem.. works every time.. my personal machine is on xp pro.. but all servers are on win2k3

one of the biggest problems I have had on xp pro was the mapped drives.. if you do NOT connect to the drive first. then it doesnt auto connect. but if I open the mapped drive, then close it. it is perm connected till next time I reboot comp.. hope that helps..

the question remains on the section in the settings. "Does this page look bit empty to you?" So, running the PG plugin, adding a series of text boxes to manually add entries into the PG p2p list. to manually block users or an example would be known hacker groups or troublesome users or maybe add also a IP look up into that list so that it can find an IP or range, inside the p2p file.

Would it be possible to change the "Check Settings" section of the file/settings/connection settings section, back to a click box. Seems MANY users are not seeing this as something they can actually use. As far as the support team goes, it makes it a lot harder on new users.. to grasp..

Actually this is NOT a bad idea. however, usually you dont mix the 2 types of files. for forced rechecks may not be a very high priority. But its a very ingenious idea to do. start it in one, and finish in the other if you cant complete. To my knowledge once the file is toatally completed, it should verify the file automatically, atleast mine does, but I am not pulling from BT's into DC either.. there is an option to NOT check after 75% of the file is complete, make sure thats not turned on..

No its not a bug, however its being addressed, I have had this problem when I use the 10 rows I am in AT times.. the RC menu doesnt recognize the location of the cursor as "If I start my menu here I wont show all" and will send the focus down on the menu instead of up. this starts to happen about row 6-7. and is often. I have brought this to the DEV team for attention, they are looking into it.. NO resolution has been found as of yet. this same problem I have, will when fixed be able to fix darkins' problem also

TGO will continue to mold itself into better each day.. more info is being added, help files, options for regular users and more.. As we progress, the world of Help/TechSupport can only get better..

Not sure if this helps but our NET does allow speed limiters HOWEVER you will get kicked if you do NOT have anything in your description that its limited and the speed its limited too..

each program/client/must use different ports (unless they are only open one at a time.. hope this helps..

From what I have been able to gleem about TLS is its idea is the work with encrypted segments for files, and creates certificates for the keys, this way both sides can decrypt the segments when it gets to the other end but at the moment its NOT a standard as the data is not encrypted by most clients or hubsofts. but with the miagration to ADC, this is a possiblity. will be interesting to see how it does. however, I also think it will bring unwanted attention to DCC because it shows a deliberate attempt to "Hide" something from officials or other entities.. Thats why most are being shut down.. they brought it on themselves by trying to deliberately hide things.. best way to hide something, is to put it right in front of their faces..

Guys.. if I am there you are welcome to contact me regarding these commands, TGO 2.0 had a similar problem seems the CVS/SVN (dont know which) for DC++ .691 and up uses the commands differently than the old style. for TGO 2.1 we totally redid the RC's and they work on every client now.. touch base with me or post on the Ascendent forums under TGO, and I will do what I can. but for that, Give as much detail as you can, commands, responses errors etc.. and I will help.. I am slow some days but its not working now for you, so it wont hurt for an extra couple hours wait some days.. Ascendent is putting together a dev team. and they will have knowledge similar to mine regarding this and far more.. Feel free to holler.. This problem is solved.. With the Release of Apex, we tightened security to protect against flooding the hub to get software, along with many other things.. I apologize for any inconvience. You know.. being innovative is the key for Apex, We have already began to create a new standard in DC.. Come on guys... over 1000 users signed up for a software that has NEVER been publicly released, how many other clients can say this??? maybe DC++ or something. but not many.. Maybe in a future Edition, There could be a "Plugin" engine, to allow additional features into the client built by its members. Similar in idea to firefox's extensions and plug ins.. NO i dont expect this any time soon. but this would help to offload requests for smaller "Options" that you dont want in the base code and allow the community to participate in adding additional features they are wanting. Yes this would take work on their part, but if they want it bad enough, and this feature is there, then they will do it.. just food for thought.

You know, we talked about the Apex Logos For a long time. We finally sorted out which one would be choosen from votes. but I have to say.. IF Crise can do it. I Really Like, some of aninerbe's work, if we could get (beg, bribe, outright pay.. whatever needed) Crise to add some code to create a radio box for us to choose which icons (out of pre determined list) that would be used where, dude THIS would ROCK! (/me goes to hunt down the features request area) BTW, Welcome Loco, my friend, glad to see you finally on the site.!

Not only is LUA a much needed add on for the Op client. However, in addition it needs to have extensive area for adding your own RAw, and custom user commands. Also, it Must be able to check usrs files, for fakes etc.. it needs to be able to (if possible) turn off/on which hubs can be file checked. since DC++ is using CID's it may be able to turn on and off file checking in certain hubs. ADL searches and the other extras mentioned above are also needed but these features will definately get your OP teams interested in this as a client.. espeically since all the good OP clients are about dead..

wise move as an op. especially when under attack. The only problem is when using RC's during an attack there is lag..
