Apex DC++ 1.5.9 x86-32 - start jam

15 posts in this topic

Please guys little help.

I installed Apex DC++ 1.5.9 and when i try to open it i get only start logo of Apex DC++ 1.5.9 and then it's freez on it. I can't open Apex DC++ at all.

I have Win7Pro 32bit, 4GB RAM and Intel-i5 so i don't think the computer or OS is a problem here.

Any advice is welcome.(including "uninstal 1.5.9 and instal *.*.* ")

Best regards,

Psy

Try holding down shift and then launching it while holding it down. Then open your hubs manually from favorites.

How many hubs do you have in your client set to auto connect at start up?

Also does the hanging ApexDC leave behind an exceptioninfo.txt file in its directory, if so please upload it here.

Is this a new clean install? Or are you migrating something over from another client.

Did the installer install Visual C++ dependancies on your machine?

As for different versions you should be able to try with 1.5.7 or newer. Although I can not think of a particular cause for this.

clean install and only client.

I think so, i saw during installation new window was opened briefly where was written something like Installation of Visual C++ but it was too fast to be 100% sure.

truly, i had Visual C++ before installation, i had it for Visual C# 2005 and Visual Studio 2008, which work perfectly so i don't think that is problem here.

I have installed Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, 2008(Redistributable- 9.0.30729.17, Redistributable- 9.0.30729.4148 and Redistributable- 9.0.30729.6161), 2010(Redistributable- 10.0.40219), 2012(Redistributable- 11.0.50727) and 2013(Redistributable- 12.0.21005)

Never mind, thanks for that, i'll try then with 1.5.7 ...or newer and avoiding 1.5.9...

Best regards,

Psy

Do you have some advice. :)

Best regards,

Psy

I have exactly the same problem with version 1.5.9. No start, clean install, WinXP Pro SP3 32bit, shift pressed doesn't help.

One core of my CPU is chewed 100% while trying to start.

Do you call it a bug?

For XP, please make sure the binaries you are using are correct (if you used the installer this should already be the case, if not the correct binaries are under the XP directory in the archive).

With the info I have from this topic it is difficult to pinpoint the cause. Does the splash screen get shown at all? if it does, does it show any messages at the bottom of the splash screen before hanging if it does, what was the last message.

Same problem here!

I'm sure is VC 2013 Redist fault... I surely have a newer version than the one integrated in the installer, wich ApexDC++ don't like it!

I had it working (i.e. last version) for one week or so but not anymore... and it doesn't leave any log because it don't crash, he just showing the splash screen for forever and eating 100% of 1 CPU core (another instance will eat another core...) if you click the splash a window will appear and tell you that the program is not responsive and asking me if I want to close it or wait for it to respond (wich will not happen).

P.S. however it doesn't have anything to do with this, i'll let you know that I don't have any hubs that are automatically loaded (I load my hubs manually)!

P.S.2. what info that could help you guys is that I have currently installed VC2013 v12.0.21005 (install this to see if ApexDC++ will work after that)!

Thanks!!!
