Help needed

2 posts in this topic

hello peeps,

I had earlier setup a dc++ hub on lan (on my pc ). All users of my ISP connect to my server using my lan ip and we could share contents at lan speed.

But currently i cannot keep my pc 24*7 on. Therefore the dc++ hub remians down and other users are not happy with such downtimes.

So i have thought to make the dc++ hub server on my dedicated server which is located in ovh france.

Ands now i have few questions.

Now all users have to connect to the dedicated servers ip and when we transfer we get the net speed , and there is no more high lan speed.

Is there anyway to make the transfers via lan ip so that we get lan speed insted of net speed ?

please any suggestion is most welcomed :)

I don't think it is possible because in your situation, the client has to pretend he is on external IP while talking to the hub, and pretend to be on local IP when connecting to others.

But maybe you could buy some cheap hw like raspberry pi and install some hubsoft there. If your hub is not that big, it should perform reasonably fine...
