He says he cannot perform searches... BTW, I get both TCP and UDP OK when trying the test. Last time was before a minute. I am using one and the same ports for TCP and UDP, however I also can't get Search to work from time to time. In such cases I search as Passive and when I find the thing, change to active again (if it is big and the connection is slow otherwise). Maybe the option "Always use Passive mode for search (only use it if you know what this is doing)" in the Settings\Advanced (first Advanced) will help. But see what it does: -- You are in active mode, but have activated passive search. -- -- Don't use passive search if you have search results without this option -- -- because you don't get search result from passive clients ! -- -- Turn it off in settings => StrongDC++ => Always use Passive Mode for Search

Mistake above, 30 min were not enough, please delete the above. For 3dfx: А ти другарю вземи да помогнеш! Ну ты помоги меня пожалуйста! And you better help me! A ti mejor echar me un mano! 1. I would like to add\specify DMala: ! An option to sort the list of files by "Date Last Modified" in file list! F. ex.: I had 3 movies in folder "Video", «Filmм1-comedy», «Film2-comedy», «Film3- Sci-Fi». After that I receive another movie (New Sci-Fi) and then I create 2 new sub-folders in folder "Video": Video\Sci-Fi where I move «Film3- Sci-Fi», at the same time rename it as Film3 and add it in the same folder as the file (New Sci-Fi) is, and in the second folder with Video put comedies Video\Comedies and rename them as «Film1» and «Film2». Now how this will look like in practice: Folder «Video» will be shown like updated from (Data1), folders «Sci-Fi» and «Comedies» will be shown like updated from (Data1) too, and folder with Video clips, which was a sub-folder of folder «Видео» will show the earlier date of modifications in it. (Data0). Same actions to be applied to files: Film1, Film2, Film3, New Sci-Fi = Data1; 2. At the program eMule0.47a on «Серверы» button, below on the tab «Logs» where are shown messages of file hashing, connection to server, etc., the program gives messages of double-shared files: path1\file name, path2\file name. I would like to see the following facility: In the bottom left corner of DC++, where hashing progress is shown, to put a new button, upon pressing on it a dialog window (similar to upload list) to pop-up, in it will be shown hashing process and also messages for files shared more than once 3. Add in chat a button – giving an interval for the dates, for which the log is shown. F. ex.: I have log file for half a year - 10-20MB, and in order to see it I must go to folder D:\Program\ApexDC\Logs\, and wait – until such big text file opens, after that search in the file the date interval I need. Alternatively, I just would simply press the button and select interval Date:Time. (Similar aptions are in the program of «1С» company: 1С Accounting, 1С Commerce and Store). ( Пожалуйста, сообщить подробнее об этих проги. Я надеюсь что обращатся на "ты" не проблем, в английскому "Вы" все равно нет. ) 4. Make an option for file search in one's file list (only by personal share). This would be more feasible and faster than search for a file with Windows search on several HDDs.

Yes, I know Russian, it could be better, but it's still better than nothing. :)

Please add an option for arranging the list of files according to "Date Added" in File-list. Note: I am slightly on this one...

Currently the development of PWDC++ is stopped. We are waiting for Strong DC++ RC11, which will (hopefully) be bug-free and we'll base Apex DC++ on it. Best regards

Then leaving it for the future, when the DC++ code will allow... Or if the problem is only in memory used, make it as option (on/off), or include it only in OP version? Btw, sorry that a non-programmer dares to comment, but can't it be done like: 1. User X on hub Y writes a PM. 2. The client immediately writes down to some (*.txt?) file a line of a kind "Time/User/Hubname" (how much memory this will require?). 3. If user X goes offline and you want to see the hub name, you click on "Detailed" button somewhere or write f. ex. /all in the PM line. 4. The client refers to the above file and gives you the hub name. I think that if the client works in this way, with only one record at a time, memory usage will not be increased visibly. The *.txt could be limited in size, i. e. the user could define how much lines (entries, PMs) it will keep. Also option "clear on program exit, etc." Please, forgive me. You know, a PC fears most from a software specialist with screwdriver, a hardware specialist with program and a user with idea. Haven't I said that before? :)

Automatically create folders woth hub names when downloading

Will this need some new code too, as with PM? Or, if it does, maybe the code will be similar for both and there is some point to be written out? -
Well, it could be of much use in certain cases, if BM decides to do it (to check possibilities) nobody looses. 2-3 or more such "small" things will make users prefer the respectable client who has it, although only one "micro feature" is too minor. Yes, I hope BM will see this and make a quick check, without delaying RC11 for such things. ;)
-
And what BM thinks of it? Maybe he will add it, if smo let him know...

IMHO it was really a nice match, with many beautiful goals. Due to the fair play the "clean" playtime was long enough to allow various cute combinations and attacks, mostly for the Germans, but not only. I wish we see more such struggles to the final incl. ;)

RainyShadow, are U d-ding normally at expected speeds with other P2P software? Try near the time you try PWDC++, so it will show if there is a problem in PWDC++. I also do not believe it, still there were reported several cases of conflicts between PWDC++ and Strong DC++, if I remember correctly. ;)

I dare to suppose this has smth to do with Win 98, as in NT-based versions network management is quite different. F. ex., the new Skype also requires Win 2000/XP or later (at least they say so on the d-d page). If you have time and a chance, please recreate the setup on a 2000/XP machine and let us know if this solves the trouble. I know that you have some reason(s) to use Win 98, but nobody can fight the time...

VLC (Video LAN) player as AVI Preview altenate?
Zlobomir replied to AddictedToChaos's topic in Feature Requests
Yes, it could be made optional for install and downloaded only if selected. VLC also plays streams, so it very good for previews (in case the ftp mirroring is still added...) -
It really does not, so why you think think the problem is in the client's traffic management? You are probably right for the slow browsing, but you said smth about 6 IPs etc... Can you manage your network in such a way that xKB - 5KB are bound to PWDC (there is such field in Connection settings), and the rest (5KB) remain on another IP for your browser. I agree it is not the most convenient way, but I see it as a possible solution. Or we can add smth like "Decrease download speed with x* KB when y*.exe is running" in Settings? x - user defined KBs y - browser's *.exe Multiple fields or "Add..." will allow to define different behavior of Apex DC++ when different network apps are started. But it is probably quite difficult to be done. Can the source of some download manager to be used? F. ex., Download Master has such feature, I suppose that Flashget, Getright, etc. have it too. P. S. Sorry if talking bullsh*t again. This is the green head's duty in a discussion. :)

Just to be sure, RainyShadow, do you have any Flextype-like-s*it installed? Although it will make problems both in PWDC++ and DC++, if any.
-
Maybe Crise could be the OP coder and the CL supervisor? Or another person would be interested in developing one of the two versions? BTW, in this way do we need a man for the Linux version too?
-
Well, maybe this case deserves to add "Manual TTH verification" as option? It's more for feature requests, but if it's bad proposal for some reason, please delete it from here directly.

It is 10:13 currently at my place, I'm still not drunk and I think you are right, even if you are drunk. Moreover, I think that the American commerce is nasty related with the American military force (and not only). Never mind... :blushing:

So do it as option "Show character counter"?
-
Hmm, no VGA output. Does the VGA work on another PC? Have you tried with a PCI VGA (in case your AGP slot is gone)? Or the VGA is on-board? What's the make and model of this non-booting MB?

I must say that: 1. Most of us are cursing or have been cursing at our PCs at least once. 2. If you take good care of a machine, it will never let you down. Unlike a woman, who can let you down regardless of what you do. Sorry for the off-topic... :)
