Even if this was to be implemented, I don't think it's something which will be ready for the next version. Crise already is swamped in features to code really.
-
I can't imagine it is much faster/simpler to be honest. I guess I wouldn't know though. :)
-
Moved to the appropriate forum. As for the actual request, it's not something I'd personally see a need for, seeing as often I just manually select the users I would like to check, and therefore exclude those sorts of people anyway.
-
It doesn't fit anywhere that nicely I guess, but it'll be fine here. ;)
-
Haha, yeah right, next you'll be saying my real name is Greg. ;)
-
Haha, I thought Lee was just an internet alias too. ;)
-
Wait, Crise is actually a real/common name? I always assumed it was just an internet alias... ...Sorry GS_Death if that is the case... I would also have assumed that "hubframe.cpp" was a source related thing though... All Crise's are C++ coders though...

Thanks again Zlobomir (and also iDemon ). That idea is actually rather interesting, and maybe wouldn't need the hubsoft, although I know very little. It would also mean centralization would not be an issue. It would (to a point at least) not lead to passive hub overload like I thought they meant. I do not know how practical or actually possible to develop it would be.

If it's possbly, then it just depends on how easily. There are so many things Crise has to work on. ;)

Well, I read it, and thanks for your time writing it and explaining yourself well. As for the actual request, I don't think it's a bad one, although I don't mind the bandwidth much. If Crise is willing to do it and sees it as worth while then I don't think it could have any real negative affects, it's just going to take a bit of work. Nice idea, Greg EDIT: It would be easier maybe just to not have to open up a webpage and manually download etc though? And it would also mean if there was any need to patch a file or two or something we could do it quickly and easily, without requiring so much time from the user.
-
You know you want to translate that for us Zlobomir? ;)
-
Unfortunatly I don't know what caused your crash, although it is very weird that it refers to files that are in a directory which would surely only be on Crise's computer? Anyway, do you have any idea what kind of things you were doing at the time of the crashes?

The limitations you mentioned are massive. Massive enough to put do it I believe. As stated, you would need to work with a hubsoft to do this which we currently are not. However, that's just a question of developing it, it's the hub overload thing that's a real issue. Hubs already are overloaded by passive users, and that's jsut because of the bandwidth they need for searching etc., and now you want all data they are transfering to be downloaded then uploaded by the hub? Realistically speaking that will next happen. Say a hub has 5 passive users on a hub, all downloading from each other, who have maybe 2mbit connections (plenty of people have faster) then the hub is supposed to be constantly uploading and download at 10mbit, ontop of what is already happening. There is no way hubs can actually do that. even the best of dedicated servers cannot hope with a few users on a fast connection. It's more realistic to just kind a way for two passive users to connect to each other.

Welcome, Please refer to http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=392 about the userlist icons, and ask any further questions either here or there about them if it does nt answer your questions. As for the colours of the userlist names I will make a screenshot of the page which explains those in the settings now, you can change4 those colours, but I will provide an image showing the default colours. Ok, the atached image should show the information about th userlist colours you need. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask. I hope this helps, Greg EDIT: By the way, if you're a fan of the band Pantera (as your name suggests), they've done some reason good stuff.

Teh nub. What he doesn't tell you is that I had to sit in Accident & Emergency for like 2 hours or something because of him. I also ended up having oven chips for dinner which don't taste as good. Finish the chips next time first.
-
Might as well just install it on its own harddrive, considering all the downloading you'll be doing. :)
-
What a n00b? Well, it's kind of the way you'd expect him to die, it's just a shame that his kids will have to grow up without a dad and stuff... 44 is an early age to die at.

I've renamed the topic to be the kind of format in which we would prefer it to be, this makes it easier for us to sort through. Anyway, I hope Crise will be able to shed some light on what happened when he gets back.

Lol, ApexOS++, you reboot your computer to go into your OS which is just a DC client.
-
It's far from easy to implement, dispite being possible on the protocol maybe. I'm sure it'd use more resources too? I'd like the feature myself, but I think you'll just have to accept this as a limitation.
-
I doubt it would save much time to be honest. Just open a PM or whatever, then copy the path and paste it... if there's much demand for it though...
-
Ok, done, you just missed the [ on on that last edit. Sorry I replied, lol.
-
Haha love that second wallpaper!! I won't post my desktop though... seeing as I'm on a crappy PC while mine is broken.
-
I would like to see this feature also. :)
-
Maybe it has just been forgotten about. It would seem I missed this thread myself anyway. I think that user defined searches would be great, although you shouldn;t then be able to list them all in /help or have descriptions for them I would assume but that shouldn;t be a big deal. Would need a new page in the settings though. It'd definatly be nice to have.
