  1. Linux Project Development

Nice nice. Congrats on payrise too.
  2. exception report

Sorry for the delay in a reply, I just guess no one was around at the time. Anyway, I cannot tell you myself what the cause of your crash was, hopefully Crise will be able to tell us a bit more when he sees this. Until then I've just edited your post to put the reports in code tags, so they'll be a little easier to read. I seem to get the impression you keep a backup of your favorites XML file... good idea. Thanks you very much for reporting the crashes and posting the crash reports. Sorry I can't be of anymore help for the moment, hopefully someone who can be of more assistance will see this thread soon.
  3. Linux Project Development

I highly doubt that totally seperating/splitting DC++ and StrongDC++ apart is the best option... Unless this new version of DC++ turns out to be very bad - which I doubt.
  4. Using PG code

The only reason we see to rebuild (not reinvent - the idea behind it is good enough already) "the wheel" is because there is something wrong it, it's inefficient, and we believe we can do better. If we were to use your code etc. and implement it into our client then surely it can only be taken as a compliment, especially if duplicating it is simple, just shows we believe you have done it better than we would have. "Do onto others as you would wish them do onto you." Heh, I can kind of see the logic based on that, although hopefully it's now understood we're not trying to be aggressive.
  5. Small PM issues

Weird... Not sure how that could have happened. IPB can't count I guess.
  6. Well Bud at least is just horrible... Not tried that many other US beers so I don't dissappoint myself, but I'm willing to believe some microbreweries produce some decent stuff. Fullers ESB is very good, shame it stopped being sold, although Fullers 1845 has the edge anyway. Opera can do it too, although not as well, I have to admit.
  7. Linux Project Development

    Damn, that sucks. :D
  8. Segmented downloading techniques

Maybe you're just being passionate or whatever about this issue, yet it comes across as you're being overly defensive. This forum purely exists for users to inform us of bugs which we'll do our best to solve, and to post crash reports when availble. When a user, in future, can a related issue and searches and finds this thread, I doubt they will be impressed about constant defending/arguing between people. Lee did not leave this thread open for people to just keep argung/defending themselves, take it to PM or something if it's that much of a concern. However, Lee did have legitimate reasons for leaving the thread open, so it shall remain open for the time being.
  9. Heh, that could be slightly misleading, oh well. :P
  10. forum down time

I've not noticied anything either, although I havn't been around all that much the past few days. Ouch, that's going to be pricey. I suppose VPS isn't an option.
  11. I dunno about more stable, although I suppose the client is becoming more and more stable. As for beer - we Brits have some alright beer too, although I have to agree with you about American beer. Haha, should have looked at the date... Maybe checked the actual client prior to annoucing it too. Nice to know the site is being checked that often by people, though.
  12. Logging Explained

Decent well written guide, thanks. :D
  13. Cyclic Redundency Check problem

    Software-wise maybe, not hardware-wise though. :)
  14. A better Search frame

Sounds useful, if easy to implement it, then I'd probably use it. Wouldn't have thought it'd be too hard.
  15. Tray icon color change option

Hehe, indeed, don't wanna recompile/reshack every beta though. Lazy. :)
  16. Search Window - Selecting Hubs

That's pretty much the situation. The standard client does some OPing features, just not many, or enough to make it extremely competitive.
  17. Tray icon color change option

Indeed ifmn, but I think quite a few users would make use of this feature, if added. I'd like to see it implemented if possible.
  18. Search Window - Selecting Hubs

If it's not hard to implement then I wouldn't mind it being added, I would make use of it. Another thing we'd want in an OP edition/version of the programme really.
  19. ApexDC++ OP

There's anti-leeching safemeasures behind the limiting feature, people can't really abuse it massively.
  20. Status update

I was having problems loading anything at around 5PM BST, seems to ahve sorted itself out, may have just been me though, didn't have/spend the time to check.
  21. Search Window - Selecting Hubs

Personally I just arrange the results by hub and select the users/files in the relevant hubs.
  22. Share Hiding

I would use the feature if it was provided, as long as it didn't cost too many resources. On the other hand, we would have to ensure the anti-leeching side of this feature was done properly, couldn't let it allow users to have no share (unless OP) if they're sharing anything on other hubs. If implemented, I'm rather sure it would be abused, which would lead to a bad reputation etc. Anyway, as has been previously said, there is no intention to add this feature to ApexDC++ at the moment.
  23. ApexDC++ OP

Maybe this is the case, this decision will be made once the OP client becomes availble. At the moment, it is not, we understand these points of view but see no point in making decisions about this until the release of an OP edition.
  24. Status update

The site is definitely a lot more "speedy"/responsive than a while before it went down. :)
  25. outta here

Thanks for testing the client, as for the "silly" questions... thanks for those. After searching for something in relation to a Linux question you asked, I realised a new Ubuntu major verison is coming out in April, which hopefully will support my motherboard. Good luck with whatever you go on to do, and do keep visiting if you can. :(
