I feel this might be user error. How are you calculating your folders to be over 100Gb?
-
perhaps you just had a lot of stuff he wanted :)
-
You sure he is not just downloading segments over and over? If so, that is normal behavious, Apex split's the file, that is how segmented downloading works....

You mustn't be properly in active mode. You also mention a college network which could make this difficult.
What setting are you using to try and get active? Also, when the boot the client look in the system log window in re of port mappings.

Just release it on cydia if you do, apple sux, anyone who has an iphone should jailbreak it anyway.

Been discussed many times before. It will make it into DC as ADC becomes more widespread. But it's a lot of work and I don't think it'll be in near future.

There is problem in the listview control of all windows (filelists, Queue) in Vista and Win7.
Problem startting if you want to select multiple items in the list at one by mouse in first column, usually filename column.
You can say that there is posibibility to select it holding down the ctrl key and select it one by one,
but it's time consumpting.
Selection in all versions of windows xp working well, even in the Vista or Win7 explorer, just in dc not.
Last I heard they knew about this, perhaps it is something that there is a workaround for.

Ok , if that is extremely low for this weeks average...lol....then I can live with it..The reason I brought it up is that on a average the users on our hub using apex had been getting memory usage in the mid 30 range.
this is not a sharp spike, just thought it was worth bringing up, sure not a slight on the client at all, I can understand as the client gets more beef to it, the more it's going to take to run the thing, but it's still the best client as far as I am concerned....However feedback about changes are a good thing, it's how we tune up, there's no such thing as almost in tune.
In that case, are all the other apex users sharing the same amount, downloading uploading the same, all on same version?
There are so many variables that can affect this its hard to isolate.

Also which brand of router do you have?
Do you forward ports for anything else, are they working?

By the way, the initial question for this post is no longer relevant, so this topic might as well be closed if you ask me. Do I need to do that myself ? I'm still a bit of a noob to this forum
Nope you don't need to do that yourself I will.

- use /rebuild command in chat
Srsly? How could that be made any clearer or explained? All the relevant info is there.
- or delete hashdata and hashindex files and rehash your share
These files are in your Apex folder, delete them from there.

Personally, I agree with BM, I couldn't live with such a disorganised share. But each to their own I guess.

I did a match file list following a search for alternates, crashed with following log:

TBH I miss it too, I prefer the way uTorrent deals with it, giving users the choice.
-
Just get with the current century and use DynDNS ;)

Hey,
I am currently having an issue with Apex dc++. It works fine for about 10 mins or so but then I get disconnected because I lose network access through my ethernet cable. It is not the cable that is the problem, I'm sure of it. I'm using windows 7 by the way. Also my download does not just cancel it gradually slows down until I lose connection, if that helps.
Are you using the retail version of Windows 7 with all available updates?
If not, the RC and original retail had a bug which caused this. Ensure your fully up to date.
-
Are you certain the ports are all forwarded correctly?
Have you tried using a port checker to verify this?
PFPortChecker is what I use, verifies if ports are correctly opened etc.
Also, double check firewalls aren't blocking it, f.ex. Eset Smart Security on automatic mode blocks Apex without warning.
-
yeah that much is obvious. i was referring to the version # or the "plugman by Verlihub" and why i may be able to get into that hub as opposed to every other one.
Thanks for pointing out that bit though! I appreciate your attempt at ridicule
The client seems like it is not correctly configured. First, you need to set up a share. Then you need to read the guides (again).
Sorry to re-iterite myself, but you really need to make the effort to do that before we can make the effort to help you.

To answer the previous question; no it doesn't happen every single time - just 9 times out of 10. the ones it allows me to stay connected to dont show any file list though.
I am using manual port forwarding and after testing the connection it says it is working with the current UDP and TCP.
I am also using Vista. I have not set up user name info - i have a nickname but nothing else.
Sorry for all the questions but I honestly dont know where to even look in the guides.
also; i am on a college campus and i realize that may be a major issue - but it still says the connection is OK nonetheless
Hmm, do you have Apex installed to program files?
If so, try moving it to the core C:\ and try again. Just for troubleshooting purposes.

As the error message says:
"<[GUSAR]> You provided an incorrect password and have been temporarily banned."
Your entering the password incorrectly.

Just backup your apexdc folder, the files you need are all in there.
