I dont think he's in active mode correctly. Try looking at PortForward and our How to get Active Mode thread for guidance. Is your client working as you would expect, on pub hubs can you search, download and upload correctly?
-
How can you use a reduced time between searches responsibly? Please explain that to me.....the only plausible reason I can see for it to be reduced is to allow you to search more often. As stated before, WE DO NOT want you to be able to do that, so any reduction in the search time would be irresponsible, on both our part, and we would also be forcing that on our users.

Secondly, are you on vista with UAC enabled?
-
Do you have any info in the exceptioninfo.txt file in your apex folder?
-
Can you be more specific, 'turn's off'? What does? Apex or the whole PC?

They are downloading as and when they become available. The chances are, you only have 1 user with part 4 but 2 with part 5, so you have used the users slot for part 4 and cannot get another for part 5 until 4 is finished. It's all a part of seg downloading and it does speed things up in the long wrong.

As crise says, use the shortcuts, in regards to the toolbar itself it was removed for good reason and will not be returning (maintenance, security, resource usage etc.)

Apex uses numerous services, however, unless you are having other connectivity issues I would doubt there is a service problem.
-
It seems to take the client itself some time to update. I could be wrong, that's just an ime.

Can't delete 2 or more files at once in Finished downloads

You tried right clicking>remove all. -
It takes a while for the resolve to be fully implemented, likewise DC will have the same problem. In my case, I have been known to wait up to 6 hours for such things to resolve correctly.

I have never really looked into the matter in any great depth. However, my favorite users seem to always have a slot. I am unsure if this is luck on their part or proof that the feature works....

You mention your on a school network. They are capping it for a reason, they dont want you using P2P to flood their network. So the reasing behind it is not a fault with DC, more likely a simply ISP or internal school cap.

It works fine for me.....and considering your only 3 yo how can you have been testing clients for as long? PS Why don't you just admit you don't have a clue how to set DC up and ask for help?

NP, so long as your aware of it, I just didn't want you to say I didn't tell you :crying:

Ok, just one piece of advice before I leave this topic, I recommend (and it's just a recommendation, your PC, so do as you please) that you DO NOT use UPnP. UPnP is an extremely flawed protocol and for reasons too numerous for me to explain cannot be fixed. I would never use UPnP as it will allow near enough anyone with a 'little' knowhow to access your PC on pretty much any port they wish. The decision of course is yours, but I would like you to read the UPnP wiki at least before making use of such a feature. As I have said (too much now in this post) it is VERY insecure, I would just like you to know exactly what you are using before you choose to use it. PS to answer your question, it will over-ride UPnP and the hub from changing your ports. However, if you have the 3 port options zeroed this should not cause any anomalies.
-
Ok, 2 things: Select 'Don't allow hub/UPnP to override' Change from 'Firewall with UPnP' to 'Manual with Port Forwarding' Then save settings and restart.
-
Also try de-activating ALL firewalls and try again.
-
Well I'm not near my PC but ill screendump it tomo night when I get home to show you it works for me. It always has. Your sure your entering it in the correct place and have 'auto-update IP on startup' NOT checked?
-
No, a fireball is a user with an upstream of over 100Kb/s. Hence a fast user.....
-
I realise that, and no it doesn't. I use a DNS and have down for a few years. Mine never converts to numeric.
-
The hub is down, try another. Also ensure your firewall is setup correctly, check the guides forum if your stuck.
-
If you set up Apex correctly it wont pre-fill your IP upon each restart, simply put the address in the Manual field.
-
Ok, couple of things: 1. Make sure your DCPlusPlus.xml is not read only 2. Add the new hublists via the client and not manually 3. Make sure you have selected each individual hublist before hitting refresh.
