Also ensure your router is correctly assigning that IP to the PC. Easiest way to do so is to go to cmd prompt and type 'ipconfig /all' (no quotes) and look for the section that says IPv4 Address. Secondly, ensure you have the ports forwarded and not triggered. Those are 2 different things. BTW, does the check connection button tell you the ports are correctly open?

You need to set up ports to use Apex. Check the guides section for how to get active mode.

Have you tried running virus and spyware checks?

Problems with the servers the pubhub lists are on. Keep trying, it will work eventually.

D-Tools have said they will not support it as its a beta. They supported the Vista Beta, but every time MS released an update it broke it. So they said they cant be bothered with the hassle. Which is a fair point I guess. The RAM usage is an interesting one, it seems to be proportionate to the total system ram. I have it on 2 boxes. One with 2Gb where the RAM usage is around 500Mb, another with 4Gb and the ram usage is a little of 1Gb. So it seems to use about 25% of your RAM. But it does have good management, as in, when you run a game it drops the usage of windows to allow for the game. I guess it uses RAM when your at desktop doesn't matter so much, what else do you need the RAM for at that point?

Error saving hash data: The system cannot find the file specified

Or fix the problem by disabling UAC. Or you can use Rytis's workaround if you are unable to do this. But do note, you will be stuck with Apex 1.1.0 forever and will not be able to use any of the new builds. Also ensure your are the 'owner' of the Apex folder should you still have problems. -
Well the fact that the test is failing would indicate problems with the port forwarding. Check the following: 1. When port forwarding it is important to enter your internal IP into the router and ensure your DHCP server is assigning that IP to your box everytime (either assign it to do so or manually set it in windows). 2. Apex needs your External IP (NB diff to the router). Enter it into the box as per No. 3 3. If port forwarding you must use manual with Port Forwarding rather than UPnP 4. Ensure you have not entered anything in the 'top' box of connection settings. Leave it at 0.0.0.0 You may want to reboot your router after entering new port forwarding rules and ensuring these details 'hold' in the router. Once these have been applied, reboot Apex and do not ignore any errors it gives. Let me know of any errors. Report back should you still have problems.

UAC problem, disable it. Stupidest security feature ever.
-
Silly Windows Firewall users, lol, jking....but seriously, disable it and you'll be good to go with 120B.
-
Its more likely a firewall or Internet Security app would cause this. Rather than AV.

Make your DCPlusPlus.xml file read only.

We do have a webserver feature. I am unsure if Crise intends to improve it as per above tho.

Why not just sort your HDD folder so as all the files you want to share go into one folder and share the entire folder?
-
Running it myself. Much better than Vista. However, I run a server and am unable to get Real VNC to work with it Also, D-Tools does not work. I kinda rely on these 2 so I am unsure how long ill keep it.

How healthy is your PC? I would suggest trying some malware checks. Have you noticed any other PC problems not related to Apex, just in general?
-
Its a windows restriction rather than a client one, make sure your using Windows XP or above on all network PC's. The char limits on older OS's was pitifully short.

You dont add them, they join, its their choice.

It works great, for what little I can use it today. My ISP is swamped it would seem so my bandwidth is only like 600Kb/s :P

I'm also a tester So double thanks yay....now, im back off the finish CoD5, cyas :)
-
Well the beta 521 released to testers was very unstable for me. 525 was fine, so ill test this and see how it goes ;)
-
I would say something similar buy Lee already said thank you on my behalf.

It would seem many people lack the knowledge to set up active mode. So passive mode is the simpler option. Too many variables affect active so even if you do get it working it may borksor on reboot.
-
Does your ISP allow you to use P2P apps? A lot of ISP's dont these days.

Would strike me as a port blocking service is in operation on the connection. In short, there is nothing you can do.
