  1. Well, I've discovered a bug in "minimize at program startup" funtion. If you set this option on and start PeerWeb, when you restore it from tray, it pops up in a small window instead in fullscreen mode (assume that you have set it in fullscreen before). I tried to get it started minimized through the shortcut properties function but the result was the same. ;)

    i'll take a look :)

  2. *BUMP*

Don't know if Crise or Lee saw this thread. If you did sorry for the bump.

I did see it, and concept is very good, but to be realistic, i don't know how i could make it save that kind of data ... chat logs could be utilized somehow but they are just plain txt files...

  3. I think there is a problem, when i have a hub added to favorites ... if i disable Emulation on some hubs i get this message: "Turn ON Your Tags !". Can you guys fix this for ApexDC?

    Thanks!

no we can't fix something that isn't broken, as emulation is planned to prevent that error from popping up ;)

  4. Sorry if I am nagging, but how come the new StrongDC++ is taking so long? Difficult coding issues or too little time for BigMuscle or something else?

It has now been 2.5 months since Lee said

"The private RC11 to-do list is nearly complete. So maybe this month."

In the meantime I am using PeerWebDC++ which works fine most of the time of course, but it would be really nice with an updated client. ;)

Things can change, i don't know what's taking so long but I'll still thing it won't take too long anymore :)

  5. ... I just loved your PeerWeb project and as I saw a simple p2p becoming something far beyond its capabilities ...

do you really think that we made so much advancment, as i didn't never thought that we did something that major. Thanks for the positive feedback anways...

7.Aha. Personally, I didn't find anything tha suites me but I know that the range of commands is pretty wide.

what would you want to be able to do with usercommands then? ;)

  6. I'm sorry. I meant hotkeys. For example, to define a hotkey combination for "open own list"

No. I meant to create buttons and place them on toolbar or somewhere else.

You can add extra columns such as how many upload slots does the user share, his country, his connection speed etc. I know these info can be written in properties box but will look more organized and clearer if are placed in columns. This certainly is not a high priority feature to be added but can be included in future versions, right?

Huh, I knew my list would be a waste of time and stamina ;)

    1. maybe, don't know yet, but no promises

    2. don't happen, the toolbar imaging would be messed up (unless i redo it), besides how do you think these buttons could be created by user, more details?

    5. taking a look into it, sooner or later

    then the remaining reguests:

    6. what would this panel have in it exactly, as i think this is not so important? (still a nice idea though)

    7. alredy there (usercommands) and the posibilities are quite extensive imo.

ps: i'd consider the todo list for 1.0 frozen for now, so don't get disappointed if these don't end up in 1.0. Note the public todo list is not the final one, the final todo listing is far more extensive, as some of you know :)

  7. Hi everyone,

I came up with some new feature requests. Let's go straight to the point.

    1. I think it would be very handy if you could define your own shortcuts. Can be done?

2.One other nice feature that could be added is the ability to create quick preferences buttons mostly from options menu so you can make quick options changes.

    3. I would like you to add an option to separate uploads and downloads transfers windows. One advantage on this would be that users will observe uploads window less than downloads and so there will be fewer users disconnection from the seeder.

    4. Addition of an internal file browser. Very usefull.

5.More detailed properties window on favorite user list such as upload speed, country, upload slots. etc

6.Addition of a panel at the side like opera. I think this would be great feature and if it be combined with my second request will be awesome.

    7. Ability to define your own commands on the right click context menu. Wider range than peerweb.

That's it. I'm done. Sorry for so many requests but I gathered the all together.

In the next days I'm going to make a donation for your great effort but I'll have to wait first for my electron visa to be issued. ;)

    1. do you mean defining your own /commands, if so i atleast know how to do it for web shortcuts, i'll take a look for other types too though

    2. more details? do you mean defining your own shortcuts (ie. ctrl+f)

    3. i get your point, but this is still not a top priority (i have quite an exstensive list of stuff to do alredy)

    4. "Open own filelist", i don't think other functionality is needed, use win explorer to delete and organize

    5. i might have a look on this one though don't see it being useful, details?

gotta go now but will comment on rest of your reguests later...

  8. Code: c0000005

    Version: 0.41

    Major: 5

    Minor: 1

    Build: 2600

    SP: 2

    Type: 1

    Time: 2006-04-08 20:28:20

    TTH: UCAUHQNNKV2TE65Y5Q7C2TFCIQ7QY2W3FBQWTGI

    ...

thank you for your report but with just exeptioninfo.txt i can't do much...

f.ex: what were you doing when this happened?

though i'm not going to fix any pwdc bugs anymore, as i'm completly consentrating in ApexDC for now...

  9. i am sorry that i use both forums :) . i did not copy the queue.xml. i mean i did not create a backup of queue.xml. what will happen now? :)

if you don't have you old queue.xml backup then you'd need to do this:

    1. find the exact file you were downloading before (same tth)

    2. start dling it from start (wait it to dl few megs)

    3. then close pwdc++

    4. find then new temp file (which was created when you started to dl the file again)

    5. copy your old 95% temp file over the new temp file

    6. you might need to edit queue xml paths etc. but not sure so just go with 1-5 for now and tell me if it works

  10. Is this really your suggestion... to partition their drive?!

well to fix this they have to change file system of their existing partition to NTFS or utilize alredy existing NTFS partition/drive...

and it just is that it's always better to format and create new primary partition rather than use windows command prompt...

if i'd do this i'd do it this way:

    1. move files from FAT32 drive/partition (in my case usb drive so solution number 2 is not an option) to another drive

    2. format FAT32 partition/drive

    3. create new primary NTFS partition to the new unpartitioned space

    4. and then move files back to the brand new NTFS partition/drive, and that's it

but it's not my fault that only solution to this problem is so hard, same goes with the fact that unfortunetly many HDD's come as FAT32 pre-formatted...

besides NTFS is far more superior to FAT32 anyway :)

  11. Statement of problem

Some users recieve error messages about not having enough space on their HDD's while using ApexDC++ to download over 4GB files (assuming you are downloading to FAT32 partition/drive)

    Solution

Only way to fix it would be changing file system to NTFS as FAT32, doesn't like files over 4GB

Two ways you can do this:

    1. Go to Control Panel ->Administrative Tools->Disk Management, somewhere there delete the partition you have on the drive (FAT32 again, I guess). And then create a new primary NTFS partition on it. Format it and that should solve your problem.
    2. In windows command prompt (Run > cmd) type 'convert volumename /FS:NTFS' (Note: This method should never be used for USB HDD's)
I'd always use the first option though, even if it involves a lot more work than second option.

Note: if you alredy have another partition with NTFS set as file system you could just move your complete & incomplete files directories over to that partition, and manually fix paths in queue.xml and in settings of ApexDC++.

  12. Hi everyone,

i am using peerweb dc++ 0.41. there is 4.36gb free space on the disk. i am downloading a file which is near 4.2gb and 95% of it is completed. i mean, 95% is completed and now there is 4.36gb free space.but now when i want to continue to download, it says "there is not enough space on the disk" but as i told there is 4.36gb free space!how can i fix this problem?

    thanks in advance...

I'd guess your HD's file system is set to FAT32, am i right?

as if that's the case only way to fix it would be changing file system to NTFS as FAT32, doesn't like files over 4gb :)

and you have two ways you can do this:

    1. Go to Control Panel ->Administrative Tools->Disk Management, somewhere there delete the partition you have on the drive (FAT32 again I guess). And then create a new primary NTFS partition on it. Format it and that should solve your problem.

I'd always use the first option though, even if it involves a lot more work than second option.

Note: if you alredy have another partition with NFTS set as file system you could just move your pwdc's complete & incomplete files directories over to that partition, and manually fix paths in queue.xml and in settings of pwdc++.

  13. so when i want to emulate peerweb in my favourite hubs, i have to go into properties/emulate dc

but if i visit a hub that's not in favourites, it automaticaly emulates dc. Hmm, that sounds very odd to me, or

am i missing the point completly. If I am missing the point. What is the point.

i believe the point was that if it had global option it'd be too fake or something, but this question should be asked from BM as SDC decided to make it this way. (they had global option in some older versions, i think)

  14. 1. is it in peerweb version 0.41. I haven't come across it.

    2. when i play audio in winamp and hit the first winamp button/icon on the toolbar, it will say something like

"Martin is playing Black sabbath-paranoid at 128 kbs.

but when the next track is played, new information does not appear in the hub window.

    M

about 1. Lee had mistake it isn't in but it doesn't need to be :) as when hub is not in favs emulation is automatically used :)

    2. won't happen, as that be too much spam :)

  15. this is going to be a gem for me :)

hope it makes it in the release in some point....

currently there is no way that this can be done properly. (read: many users exspecially op's use old versions/mods of DC++ so the user identification fix in latest release of DC++ won't have much impact)

  16. hi,

i am new to peerweb dc and relatively new to dc++.

i was using other clients and peerweb is the best i have used do far. in my other cleints i was registered with hubs and i have transfered my data over to peerweb dcso i can connect to those hubs with out reg'n all hubs again.

some of the hubs are kicking me and giving me the mesage "turn on your tags"

i dont know what this means? anybody help me?

    you should use emulation...

steps to do this (reguires hub to be in favourites) :

    * Right-click on the hub emulation needs to be set to and choose "Properties"

    * Now just tick the box "Emulate DC++ in this hub"

  17. I dunno, i just thought I'd ask. :)

    M

acording to my knowledge this moglo is some kind of cheater/faker client, besides this behaviour would disrespect the DC spirit :)

(searching for hubs that you are not connected to)

  18. Hi, I'm glad this will be looked into.

Thank you Lee, for suggesting it.

actually theinvoker was the one that originally suggested this

The only way it can be done at the moment is if you remember to add to favourites whoever you are downloading from.

    M

and by looking into this i meant looking into the first request of theinvoker :)

  19. Dc pro had this, but don't thik it was actually working.

Well maybe both people had to have same client.

    M

this is not needed, you can just grant a slot for the user and then paste magnet link to the file you want him her to have

  20. 1. Would it be possible to have a facility saying which clients it would not be compatible with.

So if i saw someobody not being able to connect to me, i could see it's because that person is using version 3.06 or whatever.

Actually is it possible to make the client compatible with all clients.

I'd expect not. but thought I'd ask anyhow.

    M

well one client that has been reported having problems with SDC is rmDC++ (by users, none of these problems have been confirmed by BM though, and you can guess why) but none should use rmDC as it's: old and has bugs and is discontiuned, and it's also breaking GPL licesence.

and also it probably has problems with 0.3xx versions of DC++, but i haven't actually tested this

(but none should use those anymore either)

and making old DC++ versions combatible won't be happening as we are talking old technology here...

  21. now when i use ldc,

before entering the hubs, it refreshes my file list. so the hubs don't open as quickly.

All the hubs see each other as private.

    M

ok i'll take a look into this :)
