Если я правильно понял, то суть проблемы в том, что для больших файлов, при закачке с сорса в самом начале очень много альтернативщиков, но чем дальше, тем их становиться меньше. И если у тебя скорость высокая, то докачиваешь файл чуть ли не в гордом одиночестве . Во всяком случае у меня оно именно так обстоит. Проблема в том, что все куски качаются поочередно и поэтому медленные юзеры быстро отстают. В апексе механизм Super-Seeding сделан по принципу торрентов (по крайней мере так оно заявлено :fear:), т.е. раздающих осведомляется у клиентов, какая часть наименее распространена и отдает качающему именно ее. С теоретической точки зрения, в таком случае раздача оптимизируется, раздающий использует свой трафик гораздо более эффективно, так как менее редкие части могут быть собраны с других качающих. Т.е. в идеале раздающий отдает файл целиком только единожды, при одновременном старте множества качающих с одного источника. Проверить практически, так это или не так мне увы пока так и не удалось, ибо в нашем хабе доминирует StrongDC, который данную фичу не поддерживает :-/ А PeerWeeb вроде как тоже этот механизм поддерживает.

AFAIR, there was a client where you were able to "do not share files with following extensions". So, if this would be implemented, he may just exclude *.ut and after they would be finished and renamed, Apex will hash it on next automatic rehash.

I did a quick n' dirty patch to add this abilities to 0.2.2. Unfortunelly i'm not pro in C++ , so problems still exist: - Progress bar on file recheck won't show - Even newly added files are rechecked then temporary file is created - other things I might not found Hopefully, you can fix them and include into next release. Hm, haven't noticed that I should also check "show joins" in favorite hub properties. There was no such option before I read changelog, but missed this one :blushing:

Confirmed here. "Show joins/parts by default" is checked, but ain't showing in hub's main chat. /showjoins helps, but after program restart it's disabled again.

Ok. Already done: 1. Individual speed limits (per user). Works only on new connection. 2. Ignoring PMs from some users. PM is blocked if PM window is closed. If you open PM window manually, you may chat with user freely. 3. Total disallow connection for certain user (ban). 4. Removed slot and upload/download limiting relations, minislot limit etc. 5. "SuperUsers". They got full speed even if limiting is enabled. Things to come in future releases: 1. Shared files priority. Slots would be given for high priority files first and later for lower priority. File priority should be visible only for users with same client. 2. Any user would be noticed if he is limited, even if he's using another client. 3. Advanced file info: - Last modification date - audio/video - codecs, bitrate etc - mp3/ogg - album/artist info (ID3 based) So, lots of "leech-tool" features, but client should be much more customizable...

Changelog looks great! Off: This is why I said, that creating of a mod is not so bad idea in case of DC client. I do not think, that Apex will someday include this .

I've experienced crash. I was downloading a filelist from a user, but his connection bandwidth seems to be overloaded, so his filelist everytime drops and restarts downloading. So I went into download queue, clicked on "Filelists" and program just closed without any notices nor crash reports.

This bug still exists in 0.3.0 :'(

I've noticed that this was reported couple of times here. I have multimedia keyboard and "extension" keys aren't working then Apex is focused. I'm using KeyMan (http://www.new-horizon.ru/keyman/?path=download , it should also have english UI) hotkey manager. I have Volume Up and Volume Down keys on my keyboard and they are associated to be Volume Up/Down for entire windows (default in KeyMan). So, If I have Apex's window focused, tooltip about changing volume appears, but percents are not changing. But if I focus any another window, all works as it should. Seems like a bug in DC's keyboard hooking.

Btw, I've tryed to run SDC1.00RC10 on Vista Beta 2 and it worked good, but I haven't tested it much.

Actually Vista become final this week. Build 6000 is RTM.

I have one more idea about limiting. What if you'll make it speed-related. I mean, speed that was specifed by user in description. You may also limit download/upload speed by this values. For example, I've set 256K/128K and I have 1M/1M, so I won't be able to download/upload faster than 256K/128K. But also, slow user limit should be also decreased. If I have set 1M/1M but physically I have only 256K/128K I will have increased slow user limit. So, I'd better use proper speeds in my description :)
