Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) At peak times, apexdc.net can receive over 30,000 visitors a day and 12 requests per second. This is why we're always monitoring and looking for ways to improve our server performance. Today the site will be moved to our newly built web server running the latest technology ready to handle future releases. We have temporarily disabled any auto updates while the process is completed and I will add an update to this post as soon as my DNS updates on the new server. Update: If you see this message you're on our new server (details inside). Posted March 14, 2012 Our new server details: CentOS 6.2 x86_64 Intel® Xeon® CPU E5520 @ 2.27GHz, 2 cores 1024MB RAM 100Mbit uplink We're testing a combination of new software - specifically APC alongside NGINX and PHP so hopefully things will continue to run smoothly. As for a bit of trivia: back in the earlier days when we received similar traffic to above, Apache just couldn't cope with it (even in a dedicated environment) and we had to outsource a few things to SourceForge. Although we do have very specific needs. We will wait a few days before activating the auto update notifications again.
