how do i get rid of the bad code in xml ?

ok im using an older version of apex and im getting that bug popup and when i close it the client closes if i delete the dcpluplus.xml i lose all my settings if i check dont announce new version then the new bug is still downloaded with the new xml i even tried doing it all offline then as soon as i went online it downloaded the new xml there must be a way to edit the new xml to get rid of the bug. Can anyone just tell me what to edit in the xml to remove the bug pls ??
