Posted April 1, 2008 Ok, your post is not completely clear. Are you using a DynDNS service? If so, how? Through router? Which service? Through DUC? Secondly, which ports are you using? Also, does DC tell you there are probs opening ports when you open it? Does passive mode work? Try these things and report back pls.
Posted April 1, 2008 What is the Windows version? What about the Windows build-in firewall?
Posted April 1, 2008 I have this problem too. Everything is ok when windows firewall is turned off but when i turn the firewall on my tcp port fails(My upnp shuts down). i'm behind a router having win xp sp2. _________________________________________________________
Posted April 1, 2008 Hello, I'd recommend you not to use UPNP Service. It's a bit tricky and a security issue too in Windows. If you use Windows Firewall, turn UPNP off, manually forward 2 ports in your Router and add those in DC++ settings under firewall / manual portforwarding. If you use a dyndns service add your dyndns adress in settings under 'IP' otherwise tick 'autoupdate IP on startup' and untick 'Don't let Hub / UPNP override IP' greetz I have this problem too. Posted April 1, 2008 Iran, add the apex exception manually, then it should work with firewall on.
Posted April 1, 2008 Iran, add the apex exception manually, then it should work with firewall on. Thanks Lizard and Satan for helping me. I don't have any problems with the router I will try what you said but i have some questions. Just port numbers are important in opening ports through win firewall or i must enter a special name for apexdc? secondly, i don't know that i'm using dns or not, how i can find it out? Simply choose 2 ports between 0 and 65536 in your Router. Windows Firewall will ask u to allow DC++ ! Dyndns adress looks like this e.g.: noname@dyndns.org Have fun! Edited April 1, 2008 by Lizard

I didn't anything special but now i have firewall and upnp together. heh all by chance

That's why I recommend not using it at all. There are enough free good firewalls anyway.

Posted April 2, 2008 If you have a router, it should include a firmware firewall, which is better than any software one. So use it and ditch winfirewall.
Posted April 2, 2008 If you have a router, it should include a firmware firewall, which is better than any software one. So use it and ditch winfirewall. Firewalls on routers are different with firewall softwares they usually filter ip's (Ip filtering - MAC Filtering - Parental control). They don't secure other places in system like ports and etc.
Posted April 2, 2008 Any decent router WILL filter ports, and IP's. Anything you desire tbh, at least, all my router's have done.
