Apex 0.4.0 crashes on startup

ok here goes

ill explain

im running xp

basically right

i WAS using Dc++ 0.674 or something and i had to switch cuz after awhile it would crash

i dont have the error just yet but i can get IF needed i think

so i googled what was wrong but nothing came up

so i asked in dc while it was running and someone suggested apex instead since dc is just too buggy and all that jazz

so i install apex 0.4.0 and bring over the required settings from Dc++ ( could that be the problem some of the settings?)

basically it worked

i start it up

then it asks me for a password i said no and then it says to update to 1.0 or something and i said no again .. and thats where it freezes until i have to manually crash it

any idea whayt could be up?

Please upgrade to B5 and let us know the result. Start it clean, without transferring anything.

i installed the beta version man

clean and added nothing

it worked grand

no freezing

im gonna add the other stuff now and see what happens
