A few questions from a new Apex DC++ user

6 posts in this topic

Hi, I am new to Apex DC++, but I have to say I am extremely impressed with the feature set and would like to give the creators a big :whistling: from me :)

3 quick questions really:

  • Could someone please give a list of good servers to use for MP3's, Media (video) and Applications?
  • Is there a way to "GROUP" favourite servers, i.e. into Application servers, Music servers etc?
  • I know this is very "unsporting" but I assume you will get better download speeds and get into better servers the more you upload? My issue mainly concerns an extremely poor internet connection and I could really do with uploading very little as my internet connection suffers badly

Thanks for any help I am about to receive.

Chris.

No, AFAIK we still have not forced a credit system, benefiting uploaders... It has been discussed though.

Nearest we get to some sort of credit system is private hubs I guess. Not all hubs (servers) are public but if you upload and share a lot then you are likely to be invited to such hubs.

I mean there are not any restrictions on speed in Apex, based on U/D ratio...

I think this answer is little bit beside the topic but because of hublist.org ( http://www.hublist.org/FullHubList.xml.bz2 ) is not working currently and people are asking all the time...so here is a small list where you can find hubs.

Adding: Public hubs ---> Configure ---> Add

Note: When you add a hublist in your client, check that you don't have spaces before or after the address. It will prevent the list from loading.

ADDRESSES :

http://hublist.adrenaline-network.com/PublicHubList.config

http://home.bandicoot.nl/adchublist.xml.bz2

ADC hublist which is the default hublist in the latest versions, you can join the hubs only with 0.691 or newer client

http://hublist.wikfall.se/dc/publichublist.config

Many hubs, is being updated often

http://maxweb.no-ip.com/PublicHubList.config

Quite a few hubs, is being updated often

http://inter.ancient.pl/inter/hublist.xml.bz2

Many hubs, is being updated often, server has a slow connection, shows where the hubs are located

http://hub2list.redirectme.net/PublicHubList.xml.bz2

Many hubs, is being updated seldom, shows hub's countries, limits and total shares
