Firewalls on routers are different with firewall softwares they usually filter ip's (Ip filtering - MAC Filtering - Parental control). They don't secure other places in system like ports and etc.

Thanks Lizard and Satan for helping me. I don't have any problems with the router I will try what you said but i have some questions. Just port numbers are important in opening ports through win firewall or i must enter a special name for apexdc? secondly, i don't know that i'm using dns or not, how i can find it out?

There is an option in apexdc++ settings that adds downloaded file to share after download maybe you have checked that option accidentally. :thumbsup: __________________________________________________________________________

I have this problem too. Everything is ok when windows firewall is turned off but when i turn the firewall on my tcp port fails(My upnp shuts down). i'm behind a router having win xp sp2. _________________________________________________________

Hello All The problem is that when you protect your apexdc with password and minimize it to tray, another user can access your dc simply by trying to open another apexdc++ and pressing "no" button in the message appears "Do you want to launch another instance anyway?" after pressing "no" in message above apexdc window appears without requiring any password. Hope you solve it. bye.

The problem is when you copy someone's ip address it copies the country and "()" symbols also. i need the ip adress only. :)

Thanx for upgrading but there is a problem i couldn't transfer my shared content from apex beta5 to apex 1.0.1 i tried copying some files like hash index and hash data but still 0gb shared. what shall i do now?

Hello All. I have a upnp adsl connection on my pc the problem is when i turn on my windows firewall, my upnp service stops working and apexdc also don't search and download. but when i turn it off they work properly again. How i can use upnp beside windows firewall? Hope you answer. Thanks.

my upnp stops working when i turn on my windows firewall and apexdc++ doesn't work without upnp connection. i'm using "firewall with upnp" on my apexdc's settings. when i turn firewall on my tcp port closes but udp remains open.
