And for what FW we are speaking? Remember that Windows XP has its own FW, in SP1 accessible thorugh Advanced in Network Connectins>>{LAN card} (Usually Local Area Connection by default)>>Properties. For SP2 FW is accessible via Control Panel. This is apart from the Kasperski FW. The application should be in Exception list of Win FW and allowed in Kasperski FW as well.

Why not just provide an ability to define such commands? F. ex., if I want some search engine, I would do the following: 1. Open Settings 2. Open "Chat commands" or whatever name we decide. 3. Add the desired command (maybe just like a favourite hub is added). The short way may be also: /acom /wiki for the above request (not sure whether two / entries are allowed though )

Please, let us know do you have any other specific software running. 5. Still, I think that all depends on number of downloads/uploads and network speed. Now I am on one hub, no uploads and downloads, and Apex DC++ uses exactly about 6 or 6.5MB of memory, not having PWDC++ to compare now. When having traffic of course, it will take some more CPU usage and HDD read/write. 6. As with all, you can not have everything. I would prefer a feture-rich, OP-capable and stable client, even if I had to run it only on a separate PC, rather than some crappy childish-suited, gamer-oriented light edition. BTW, Skype is not the best game companion too. I doubt that there isn't a good reason, even if the mem usage is high. There was a similar application - UMD Chat, designed for LAN chatting. It was not the port number. I managed to get it to work, but seems like hub reconnect is not enough when changing connection settings. Restarting the program solved my problem for now.

Very much related - I now have search with Phantom DC++, but not with Apex DC++ 0.0.0.3. Settings are as similar as possible, my router port forwards a whole interval up to port 22480 incl. Phantom DC++ works on WAN:22478, Apex DC++ doesn't on WAN: 22479 TCP and 22480 UDP. It also does not work on TCP and UDP both 22480. When I click on "Get IP address" in Apex, it finds my LAN IP (the NIC address of the PC the program is installed), instead of my WAN. My router config is a little strange though: 1. It is set to DHCP. 2. On my "permanently used" PCs I have configured static IPs (10.10.10.1/2 ), with DNS being the router (10.10.10.254). So I am still able to have network on other PCs with just plugging in the cable, while my machines don't change their IPs all the time.

I would prefer to leave English-Russian to the translating program, it is not (only ) that I'm lazy, but for common good. Partial knowledge could be dangerous... Still, in short: "Это персоналное требование, я не слишком уверен что это нужно добавить к Apex DC++... т. д."

And what if VLC is not installed still? There will be no path... The only way would be to download and install VLC during Apex DC++ setup, otherwise if the VLC is in Apex DC++ Installer, the size would be too big, as said above.

Do you think it will be useful to have the ability to choose not only the text color, but also the backgrounds in Userlist, as in MC?

Just to mention, my problem seems to be with the router - it probably stops to forward ports at random times.
