Not needed... Just switch off Apex, look if the process is off too, then open Favorites.xml with Notepad and edit it carefully. Then start Apex. The reason for me is that the folder somehow is marked "read-only". I can set new attributes, apply new command order, but in two mins or so it is again "read-only". WARNING: Make a back-up of the Favorites.xml first.

imo this one is not a glitch. The program just shows 1:1 what it is doing. It might be the simplest appy on the world, but it will still require some RingTFM. Go ask M$ about the non-deleting empty folders in XP, this is a glitch. I do not say Apex is perfect, but we (try to) fix things.

Well, popular file is any file with many users, and free slot from most ones... A 50-100MB+ file is big enuf to measure. Maybe searching for some Linux distro... P. S. I assume U do not use any speed limiters.

Erm, SnagIt could do, but this is an ugly way. Definitely some Export function will be useful. :)
-
Actually the installer could make a small test (with user permission) and determine it.
-
Since it is already an option, I do not see a problem to leave it as it is.

Welcome to the geeky universe. DC is not for newbies! Seriously, I prefer to see "what's going on behind the curtains". Otherwise it is like disconnecting your usb drive while Windows still keeps info in cache.

Please try version 1.0.0B5. If you have unfinished downloads, complete them first.
-
Now I see the difference. It is probably possible to add a "checking" of the size of user specified folder/s, and if different, rehash and refresh. Accept my apologies. Btw have you tried setting your default Apex download folder to Usenet's one, i. e. using one and the same?
-
Download speed depends on many factors, among which the upload speed of the opposite peer, no. of opposite peers, etc. But if you are sure you should get better spped, probably your ISP is throttling you. From here you have two ways to go: 1. Ask your ISP directly and be ready to use another one. 2. Diplomatically put checks on "Send garbage on incoming connections" and "Send garbage on outgoing connections" ..to avoid ISP P2P throttling. These are neighbor in File>>Settings>>Advanced.

As you wish, it is not my problem. I am not going to "check my nonsense" on a working client, which would be the real nonsense, rehashing over 200GB just to see that I am right. This is my last post regarding it.

Hehe, I didn't knew Apex DC++ was "questware". :)
-
It is your choice, however my suggestion was addressed to ziddey, and I am quite sure it will work for you too. This happens when using other's people topics. Anyway, if SDC works for you, use it, but don't call a bug smth without trying what the support sez. P. S. And still I reserve the right to be wrong, as every human being.
-
Oh well, just try it. I simply don't have issues with my Apex DC++. :)

I do not have Apex right now (ok, I should use Logmein to my home server and I am lazy ), but there is an option somewhere "Automatically add finished downloads to share (if shared)" or similar. Have you activated it? Edit: "Add finished files to share instantly (if shared)" in Advanced, should be no. 17 from top to bottom.

I have never compiled a client either, and I survived! I'm assuming we are just waiting for Crise to get some free time.

Yes, if I remember correctly BM statement. He had some reasons to leave it so long.

Your school hub is in intranet, or behind very restricted firewall. Ask the hub admin to try more ports, even 80.
-
Well, if the hub is not compatible, Apex can not be proved guilty... Please let us know if it happens on ADC 1.0Final compatible hubs.
-
imho this one will not be hard and will allow to determine easily whether the respective hub is already added.

Direct connection. Firewall with manual port forwarding, -
Afaik 1.0.0B5 was compiled in MS VS 2008. Surely Crise will be able to help on this soon...

The third one from bottom to top on my B5. Use the scrollbar or the mouse wheel. Probably not 0.4.0 is old, but you are even lazier than me and Crise. :)

@Bug 1: And you are sure that hub was ADC 1.0Final compatible?
