My avatar was never published as a logo, just mixed the two modded logos I did to form the avatar, I didn't even give a bigger version out I don't believe. Maybe I should have. ;)
-
Released with all but 5 minutes to go.... that was close. ;)
-
Hehe, why have people based their designs off of the avatar I made.... was just meant to be what it is.... a splice of the two logos. I'll have another look at the logo after this public preview is out. (ie. Make my own design [keeping the same shape as everything else has I guess].)
-
It's coming... eventually. ;)
-
I can duplicate (redo) those logos in Photoshop. Don't under-estimate too much what I can do - it's the ideas bit I can't do. :P

You didn't know? Hahaha. Build in the Mozilla engine or something if you need to render stuff. :P

Sorry to say it GS_Death, but I do think it would be a very bad move. It would be massive bloat and make the program worse. I can't iamgine ApexDC++ ever including a web browser. It'd probably end up just using the IE engine.... which would be even worse. I can see advantages to it, but no, it won't be happening anytime soon (I hope).

Good site, one which even I donated money to. (I don;t normally give money for stuff. )

Having tried Linux on my main PC for a week or two, DC was.... terrible. I found LinuxDC++ to be very limited. From a sharing and OP point of view, it's too limited. If you jsut need to co nnect to a hub to talk and download the occasional file it's ok, but that's about it. I really hope the Apex version will be better (you know it will ). Off topic: 300th post. :)

It has something to do with seeding at least.... and it's called super due to the person who did it.
-
Indeed, it's for sharing clients that this would be wanted.
-
When I was using the same client for sharing and OPing I was getting crashes very often. This problem literally disappeared when I started using a seperate client on the hubs where I'm an OP. But generally, PWDC is very stable, ahve had over a week uptime in the past, and the only reason it was that short.... Windows crashed of whatever. Big Muscle, thanks. :)

1) Thank you very much for releasing your CVS. 2) Thank you very much for spending your time and coming here personally to tell us! ApexDC++ is getting a little bit nearer? ;)

VLC (Video LAN) player as AVI Preview altenate?
Greg replied to AddictedToChaos's topic in Feature Requests
Have a link within the step to add your VLC path to Apex to the VLC site, or download page. I can't see how going much further would be easy or anything (bundling them together). -
Hahaha, nice to know PWDC++ was put good use, I found the "I'll PeerWeb it" bit and the fact that the tutors used it bits very amusing. I totally agree. Not only is it the fact that people don't know what things do, there's also the whole fact that people don't know about a lot of featuress within the program, some of the more hidden stuff. Documentation does need to be made for it, but it's also hard to look at it from a users point-of-view. I guess I should just do something myself rather than just complain, heh.

Haha, well this is annoying... who are you? I don't recognise the name logi....

England FTW! We won't win, but we'll try to the end, heh go England! (I'm not much of a footy fan either - but still gonna support my national team obviously.)

There's also features which an OP may use which would require extra memory to be used b y the client, even if they weren't on an OP hub possibly. One example of this (although it has n ot been devleoped and may never be) in the PM code/feature, where you could s ee the user a hub was on prior to going offline if you recieved a PM from them.
-
Random feature request, not sure it's something that should really be added to ApexDC, and it's also something that would need a minimum period as well, otherwise it'd have loads of 1 second inactivety periods. As I say though, n ot sure it's suited for implementation in ApexDC++, it's not really a DC related request. Reminds me of o ne of my feature requests though, to be able to clear that older than X minutes old, to effectively see chat from a certain time period. Thinking about it, surely the existing chat could just be copied that had timestamps for the certain period (maybe timestamps would have to be enabled?), and then the chat cleared and the copied chat "pasted" back? Anyway, sorry to go off-topic.

VLC (Video LAN) player as AVI Preview altenate?
Greg replied to AddictedToChaos's topic in Feature Requests
Yeah, maybe give an option on first run to set it. Have some annoying first time wizard and have stuff like this in there. Just let the user select the directory it's in (having the default put in by default for most users). Also for the first run thing (dunno how it works - if it exists at all), instead of (assuming that) just having an option in the Settings.XML where a line is added if it is/isn't their first run, have it so that instead there is a number. Then in future if something is dded which would affect the first run thing, have that require a different number to be in the settings wizard, otherwise it treats it as first run dispite it not being so. Furthmore, it could just be the version number to base that on, but anyway, you could even have it show certain parts of this wizard to be run on first startup according to the version, so only new stuff to set would be added. This whole compare to current numb er present thing could also be used to display any/all changes from there previous version, and display a ny other info for the release. Anyway, don't know how that all works now, that was rather random. Was thinking it so i had to write it somewhere even if it's pointless to write, keeping my brain active. :) -
Automatically create folders woth hub names when downloading
Greg replied to irish's topic in Feature Requests
Or maybe it's a reason for this nor to b e written out, because it requires the same code as the PM fequest which isn't likely to happen soon? :) -
Hehe, remidned me of another XChat feature. It allows nicks that talk (in MC for DC) to ahev different colours for each nick. The colours do not take affect in the userlist (I don't think) but just in the chat. It allows you to easily distiguish between users when reading a lot more easily. Just randomly generated I assume, although there would be no reason to have them take up colours in a certain order, so it chooses the most different fews colours for the first few users, and gradually you'll end up with some users that have similar colours. Although I can imagion if a hub was left open for 3 days a lot of the colours might be used and that there may be a lot fo same colour users. Taht would either not be a problem, or could be sorted be reconnecting I guess, rather than having something to reset user colours. Anyway, just another random un-official request from me. I can iamgion that a few users would find it rather useful actually. Although with XChat I don't use IRC for chat enough to warrent enabling that option - hench why i havn't mentioned until now , having being reminded of it.

Glad to see that you're putting some time into it, and thanks for keeping us updated. Good luck with it!
