IE6 was released in 2001, shouldn't be expected to support a browser that old. Even predates XP release by a few weeks I believe. Like the design of the site, it's lacking a banner/logo, but that's not really a issue. Clean standards compatible design which seems to be standards compliant. By the way, it is possible to install multiple versions of Inter Explorer with third-party standalone installers. IE3-6 are available here in one neat installer, it's really not worth having unless you often need to test website compatibility though.

Apex only uses registry for dchub and magnet link association I believe.

I prefer sans-serif fonts. :D

Memory usage (peak): 26.20 MB (67.59 MB) Only 9 hubs, but going on 15,000 users. Can't really see many people getting a user count that much higher. 26MB seems very good, a large variation from the peak.

The film is "Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny". However, either I'm misunderstanding balder, or Lee should be posting the next movie.
-
Shouldn't even need to do it multiple times, once it's all hashed one /refresh should suffice. As Noctis says, just be patient. ;)

Heh, I have seen it, years ago though and I didn't recognise that screenshot. Amusing film. ;)

Having had to edit the logo and work with it a bit in the past I have to agree. At the moment, the logo doesn't neatly go from the rounded circle into the point. Not sure if this was in the initial design, but a member of the forums changed it a bit and that may be why it is like this. The person who changed it created a vector image (in a rather obscure format I think), if any new versions of the logo were vector images, then it would be very helpful.

Lets hope so, would be nice to have some screenshots again, especially now they're all in this standardised format.

Great, glad to hear you're going to stay active. I doubt Lee will turn you down. :)

To me it's almost unheard of for people to use VLC for music. Movies don't really have the same standard of tagging which music formats do, so you'd just be spamming the filename of a file in mainchat? ...That's if support can be easily added. Not worth it in my opinion. Songbird support would be worthwhile if many people actually use it, but I've seen no evidence of that.
-
Support would have to be coded, but there hasn't really been any demand for it so far. We may take a look into supporting more player, but VLC especially doesn't get much use (for music).

Emoticons currently only show up for the person receiving the message, and they only see the one which their emoticon packs sets it as. "" can look quite different across different emoticon packs. Also, you could have animated images (GIFs presumably). Even if support for animated images was about to emoticons as they are, that would be quite cool.
-
Also, could have an option to disable images showing up (would probably save some RAM, too). I think the idea was more to allow custom emoticons, like you can in MSN Messenger, though.

Heh alright then, want PSD for blue or normal? Had to make more changes than I expected to make it blue, so quite different PSDs. Nice edit, looks good, would just need to change the text a bit to match the rest.

Unfortunatly that's not the attitude of the people here. On the official support hub, and the network which that is a part of, the number of users is not not issue. If he has the patience to wait 5 years, then he can wait a little longer. If you want to use a client which allows you to connect to way too many hubs simply so you can download a file, then you've come to the wrong place. I can't can't stop you doing this but I'm not going to encourage it. It's because there's no many leechers and people using these clients that I tend to never visit public hubs to download files. Leechers already taking the slots and giving little ot nothing back, so I have no chance. Closed.

Correct shade/lightness of blue now?

Known problem, listed in Beta 3 changelog, being looked into already.

It would be nice to see some of this added (not too sure about images, would use an external host for these like imageshack). However, if these features were implemented they would only work among other clients with these features, effectively meaning only other ApexDC++ users would see it. Also, for all other users, it would probably just display stuff which would make text unreadable or whatever. I believe DC:Pro had this to some extent, and when people used it, it frustrated non-DC:Pro users. ;)

Find decent private hubs and join them. People who share a lot and are helpful on DC will find they're invited to some anyway. ApexDC++ is not a leecher client, leeching clients are damaging the network, and as such we're not going to give you helpful hints and links which will help you achieve this.

Looks like Edward Norton? One of his early films I guess, no idea which one. Earlier than American History X I guess. EDIT: Primal Fear maybe?

It's less than perfect but if you can suggest a better method which won't leave room for abuse, please suggest it. Hub owners have the right to choose who and what they kick for. If you're limiting at a reasonable speed and they kick you, then that's their loss as well and I don't see why they would do it. It's unreasonable to expect us to take out this little thing because of them. As for knowing how many hubs you're in... If you join more hubs then you reasonably provide enough slots (with reasonable speeds for) then hub owners shouldn't have to accept that. If a hub owner kicks people in more than 10 hubs, good. That just means all users on there are likely to get more slots. Everyone should just trust the people who produce the clients to have enough idea of what they're working on to do what is best. It probably won't be added, but not simply because of leechers, that is a trivial factor in this. I won't bother merging the topics, as it would produce a thread which made little sense. I also won't lock this thread, I was debating it after my previous post but I feel people should be able to discuss this. In future, if I spot very similar threads about this before they develop their own discussion I will make sure I close them and direct people to numerous other topics about it.

Would think Russian for beta 2 would work for beta 3. If not, hope someone update soon.

Indeed, and I believe Crise would be able to cope with error handling for that. If it's already in a few client's then we may be able to easily put it across. However, if it's poorly implemented we won't use it, and I don't think it's reasonable to expect this feature to be recoded, at least not until ApexDC++ version 1 final is released. Any large features most likely won't be implemented until we have version1 final released.
