  1. download later

If something is higher priority than another file then Apex will attempt to download that file first. Useful when downloading multiple things from the same person or whatever. Doesn't stop other file from being download, but if a user has two files you want, Apex will download whichever has a higher priority.
  2. Inkorp's Proposal

Heh, feel free to create a forum banner Zlobomir. Sure you'd do fine, you avatar is even better than mine.
  3. download later

I prefer this idea. Personally I'd use neither and I always let my disks run very low on space. Is there much demand for this? (It definitely won't be added soon if at all due to us concentrating on a version 1 final release.)
  4. Minor Bugs

Thanks for providing the solution for the "bug" as well as just pointing it out, iceman. B)
  5. Released: ApexDC++ 1.0.0 Beta 4

Some decent well needed fixes and improvements in this. Seems good enough to me to be worthy of becoming the final. B)
  6. Your browser of choice

Ever tried Opera as your main browser for more than a month? I've tried Firefox for over 6 months as my primary browser (when at version 0.8 I believe) and for other shorter stretches on newer and older versions. It has vastly improved over time and it a worthy browser for people to use, but to get all the features in Firefox that I use in Opera takes a lot of time and results in Firefox using way too many resources for me to use it. There's not nearly enough Firefox-only stuff for me to switch to it as my primary browser. I have it installed with a selection of components but it only gets used once every few days on average. Firefox isn't the fastest browser for anything on any operating. On windows, Opera (although not all the same version) holds the fastest speeds for all of the following: opening the application (this is before Firefox is even using any components) rendering CSS rendering tables running a variety of scripts (maths, DHTML, string manipulation, table manipulation, image swapping and more) Loading multiple images (with both tests image rendering time as well as how the browser manages it's network connection - admittedly it doesn't use Fasterfox, but Opera can have plenty of connection tweaks too [go to opera:config in browser, or use INI files]) Going back and forward through history Opera 10 starts up almost 5 times faster than Firefox 2 (2.47sec vs. 11.64). IE even starts up faster. The rendering time of tables and CSS is basically halved, and the latest Opera can move back and forward (and fully the load the page) 6 times faster than Firefox. Opera is significantly faster, it's undeniable, if people are willing to sacrifice speed for features then I understand that, but this is even against vanilla Firefox. Combine the speed with less system resource usage and the generally better integration of features in Opera and it's hard to say Firefox surpasses it much if at all. Sorry to make such a long post and be so defensive. When people undermine and put down rather significant things, it's a little frustrating. I'd be interested in someone posting a screenshot of Firefox which is very visually appealing, I believe Opera is superior in how the interface can look, too.
  7. Happy Birthday Greg!

    Happy belated birthday! ;)
  8. neXTPeer.net is now public

Awww, but it's about neXTPeer(/crucial so it's on-topic) and is not copyrighted (as Seeker made it).
  9. Game: Guess the movie

    Correct. Scores 1. RadoX - 4 2. Kulmegil - 3 2. Noctis - 3 2. Greg - 3 2. Balder - 3 3. Lee - 2 3. Satan - 2
  10. PM Request....

I share stuff that almost no one else will, including some stuff I've ripped myself, and if it's a good piece of music or a rare film which I think is very worth watching then I will give someone a slot to download it. However, if I already have loads open and am overstretching my upload then I'll just tel them to wait. I've definitely closed a connection for something easily available to let someone else get something rare instead, in the past. At the moment I don't share anywhere as much as I could or used to so I don't suffer from slot begging.
  11. searchable offline filelists

If it's a file you don't need instantly then waiting until the user is back online should be ok. You can already search through filelists, and use "Match Queue", it wouldn't be pointless adding this. However, considering how it can take a while to load filelists in the client, if you search through all your offline filelists it could take a while and use a few computer resources. I can see the use for this but I'm not sure how efficient it would be if implemented.
  12. It can't really be reasonable be implemented with the NMDC protocol, maybe bring this up once ADC is more widely used.
  13. PM Request....

I give slots to people who want something from me which is hard to find from others. If they want some large easily available game/movie I'm not giving them an extra slot. If it's demanded I won't either. If people can't even be bothered to take the time to make a PM asking for the slot and there's enough people for them to mass PM then I'm not going to give a slot. Unless I'm the only source, don't bother asking me.
  14. Your browser of choice

Heh, number alone is not, but some are better implemented in Firefox (eg. AdBlock). However, the vast majority are better integrated in Opera. Opera is faster, uses less resources, and was the first browser on Windows to pass the ACID2 test.
  15. Your browser of choice

Heh, IE6 doesn't even view the Apex forums (default skin) correctly? Out of interest, what is it that made you choose Avant Browser? Would be interested in why Radox choose Maxthon, too. Pretty much nowhere only works with IE now, by bank says it's IE only, but works perfectly once I mask as IE. Never understood why Google invested money in Maxthon.
  16. Game: Guess the movie

Nope, this film is better, and slightly newer.
  17. Game: Guess the movie

    No. British actor.
  18. Kick if in PG list

cFosSpeed is shaping, it's not limiting, just prioritising because Windows can't do it already. I've linked to it quite a few times before, so the link can stay. Most routers also have some form of traffic shaping to, allowing you to prioritise certain ports or ethernet ports on the actual router (different machines on your network). People should really make use of traffic shaping.
  19. Filelist Removal

Ctrl+L and finding a persons username has not ever been to difficult for me.
  20. Your browser of choice

Adblock is is not an issue, Opera is already fast so doesn't need fasterfox except for the prefetching of links. Right clicking then open in IE is generally good enough for me than using IE rendering engine in the browser. Gmail can be accessed via POP3 anyway so Opera can be used and you'll receive mail notifications etc., although I'll admit that Gmail Manager offers some features which accessing via POP3 can't (but things like knowing space usage are not needing to me). Linkification is unrequired due to the way Opera handles selection, double clicking on the last part of a plain-text url will select the whole thing and automatically opening the context menu, which includes the ability to "Go to URL". Hitting Ctrl+F3 in Opera will bring up the source code of a website and allow you to make instant changes, similar to Firebug, syntax highlighting etc is there, which is generally good enough. Things can be added to Opera's context menu to allow you to check a page by right-clicking the URL or the current page and validating it with W3C or whatever, which I should assume is similar behaviour to the Html Validator. ColorZilla is something of which I'm not aware of any (even limited) copy for available to Opera. Seeing how easy it is to just right click then "Open in Firefox" I'd be willing to open Firefox for the few occasions I needed to know the colour of something (can even make it less than 2 clicks required if opening context menu). A lot of things in Firefox are available in Opera, either because it's already there, or it's been added via User Javascript. Some things only offer limit functionality compared to Firefox, and some are not available at all. I'm sure it works the other way round though.
  21. Game: Guess the movie

    People who havn't seen the next film, should. Scores 1. RadoX - 4 2. Kulmegil - 3 2. Noctis - 3 2. Greg - 3 3. Balder - 2 3. Lee - 2 3. Satan - 2
  22. Your browser of choice

The number of security holes alone is unimportant. Firefox has one dating back to 2003/2004, but it's a low risk hole. IE probably has more higher level holes. Firefox is open source so exploits are generally found more easily, but even when holes are found, Opera tends to be be the quickest to resolve them.
  23. I wouldn't really say it's a guide, seeing as even Windows Explorer has the same behaviour.
  24. Using Filelist?

Moved to Support forum. Please clarify what you mean Vindicator, the wording makes it sound like ApexDC allows you use a fake filelist, which it doesn't.
  25. Game: Guess the movie

Biker Boyz? Similar sort of film to Torque.
