Ah right, well if you're bored sometime it's worth installing it again. It uses a lot of resources, but if you have them to use, then you may as well. Other than resource usage I can't see many/any disadvantages of using it over XP.
-
Heh, most people already do, but it's broken English. We should all start learning Chinese Mandarin maybe.
-
Oh right, all that up to 8mbit stuff, I guess it depends how far from the exchange you are as to what speeds you get?
-
Any of those still exist? I've not had any issues like that. Exploits are always discovered, but it's been months since release and Microsoft prefers to release "hotfixes" now.All previous versions of Windows have exploits, I don't know of any unpatched ones in Vista which are serious.

Which ISP do you have? I assume you're still in the UK...

I once found out that a Metal band I was listening to was singing some really rather racist lyrics. I sure the lyrics in EvilLyrics, looked them up on the net and realised I really didn't want to be listening to it. Most of the time though I agree, doesn't matterwhat is being sung, just when I'm not sure what's said I like to find out.

What bugs? THere's too much anti-Vista stuff going around. Fair enough it uses too many resources and all that. The fact is it seems fine, there's no major issues with it, they did rather extensive beta testing of it before release and I don't think there's going to be a service pack for quite a while, it's just not needed. I paid plenty of money for my computer with dual core and all this RAM, may as well make some use of it. There are some advantages to having a 3D desktop, too. Nothing has stopped working on Vista for me. Betas are supposed to have bugs, if you weren't prepared for them you should have waited for a final release... Try it now and see if there are any bugs. :D

On a 4mbit connection you won't get that. 480KB/s is the max, so a little below that. If you're on 5mbit then 600KB/s is max, which makes me wonder what Seeker's connection speed is sold as. If it's 6mbit @ 530KB/s it's not bad but a little lower than I'd expect.

Why do I need to listen to music? I don't, I just like to.
-
What makes it better than EvilLyrics? I can't see that it's lacking anything, it gets and show slyrics automatically for each song too.
-
FIne would probably be about 10KB/s more than Satan. Considering updating to 20mbit with my current provider, probably not worth the extra money though.
-
Indeed, if you can set the colour individually for each hub in your favorites it would be possible, although it could probably be done automatically if it was implemented in such a way. Having the tab change (shade maybe) colour when a window changes would also be good, lead to tabs changing in size less and taking up more room due to bold text.

Well I don't think this feature is going to solve the problem, what needs to be added is the option to get a hold of language files more easily. Maybe it could be added to the installer, but the language files are provided by members of the forums and we can't be sure how good they are. Probably still worth adding with a warning though. Should need any changes to the actual client for this.

Prevent users from occupying more than one upload slot
Greg replied to Aztek's topic in Feature Requests
Even if it is implemented, it's not going to be very efficient due to the prefixes a lot hubs require (registered) users to have? As I understand it the ADC protocol will have some features which will allow us to implement a feature like this a lot better. I don't think it's a partially needed feature and there's little point adding it to try and work with a protocol which really isn't designed for it. -
Sounds like Apex is just processing something, not really a bug? I doubt there's much that can be done, I assume it's present in all DC clients?

[BUG][1.0.0B4] Right clicking on a file in Finished Downloads returns an empty menu
Greg replied to Aztek's topic in Pre 1.0 Reports
If restarting Vista solves it then I'd assume its not an Apex related thing. Ever happen in any other applications? -
Heh, really doesn't need to built into the client. Personally I use the following for password generation: http://www.angel.net/~nic/passwd.html

I only know one language fluently so I can't have much input, but even so I can't see why you'd need to switch often between languages unless you're translating them. Once you're using your language I can't imagine any need to change. Would be interested to hear if there's much demand for it.

Heh, deaf too by the looks of it. Just the image which I scaled down and put in some usergroup icons, had no signature at the time. Time for an update really, just not sure what to.

Alright, sounds good. This should be a useful feature. I guess since it seems to already done and we're seeing about adding it this is more client discussion than a feature request now. :P

I don't have any illegal software, and all mentioned programs which could be linked to downloading copyrighted material is actually used by me to distribute and download legal material such as Linux distributions. Sharing copyrighted material is against the law in my country, so I never do it. Directory Opus - Easily the best filemanager [and more] ever. (This program is keeping me on Windows.) Opera - Great internet browser. foobar2000 - The most powerful and customizable music player ever. (This program is also keeping me on Windows.) VLC - Excellent media player for incomplete/corrupted videos and no need to download lots of codecs. Media Player Classic - Fairly lean media player with a decent user interface (superior to VLC in my opinion). Windows Live Messenger - A-Patch and Messenger Plus! Live should be used with this as well. Widely used instant messaging program. (I know there are alternatives, but WLM supports mor features on this protocol, and if I were to switch it'd be to Mercury Messenger.) ClipMate - Clipboard managers are very useful, and should be used by more people. SpeedFan - Allows me to lower fan speeds so I can get to sleep easier. XChat - Very good IRC client. ApexDC++ - DC client with plenty of features. µtorrent - Fully featured lean torrent client with built in tetris. EvilLyrics - Nice to know what is being said in the songs I listen to. AutoHotKey - Macro and automation software, very useful. Power Pro - Useful system utility, a lot of overlap (feature-wise) with AutoHotKey. cFosSpeed - Traffic shaping, useful. Adobe Photoshop WinRAR Nero Foxit Reader QuickPar SABnzbd ObjectDock Plus Listed too many (23?) but oh well. Not in order of most used, for an inaccurate list of that take a look at this link, some stuff there I've never even used, such as Diablo 2. :S It also only records whatever is in the foreground, really things like foobar are the most used.

I've tried Maxthon in the past, quite a lot before and after namechange, since then I've had a brief look at version 2, which had nothing impressive added, just tried to look nicer. Windiz Update FTW. :P

Two questions, how long did you try Opera for and what customize possibilities did it lack which Firefox offers? You should give Firefox and Opera a go again sometime when you're bored, you might like them. Sounds like you've maybe not used them in a while? Firefox has seen improvement over the last year or even less, its power comes through Extensions and new ones are always being created and improved. If you've not tried Opera since before version 9, then maybe you should, and if it's lacking something then make a quick post on their forums before assuming it's not there. I understand that you're using Maxthon because it's what you know and it's what your comfortable, but if you invest your time into one of these other browsers it might pay off.
