Hey, There should be a checkbox where the userlist used to be at the bottom to enable it again. Not sure about the TTH requesting, maybe find out what client he is using and ask him to monitor it. If it's a particular file, you could always unshare it CPU usage is very good for me when transferring... seems to be the TTH issue. How many hubs are you in?
-
Hi, I don't think you're going to find the info unless one of the Uni hub users catches this message. Maybe ask about the Uni?
-
No you won't need to rehash. :)
-
Hey keyter, I've not come across this behaviour before. Have you tried using the latest version? There has been some fixes in memory usage since 1.3.1.
-
First of all, thanks for coming into the conversation with a decent attitude towards this as a hub owner. Would it be possible for you to upload a sample of your lua script for others to use? Regarding forcing DHT, it's enabled by default on first run. We have a first run wizard on the to do list that will ask the user whether to enable/disable it and what it does. Yeah, some users may skip over it but at least the information is there. :)

Nice, I've moved this to a more relevant forum. :)

Connect to a few public hubs and enable DHT...hopefully it will find some sources. :)

[REQUEST]Searching over DHT network also with keywords
Lee replied to Dreamlander's topic in Feature Requests
But that creates a large hub in itself...people will still connect to hubs for specific files. Although it would become an easy target for Anti-P2P organisations. -
Hi Afacan, Sorry to hear about your lost settings. Generally once you've lost your settings its very difficult to get them back. Try searching your entire machine and hidden folders for the favourites.xml file just in case. We're going to implement a settings backup method that will help you next time in 2.0.

Ok, large hub as BM claims. :) -

So it would search through hubs a node is connected to. That would be cool for public hubs, but needs to be explained before the user enables. :) -
Welcome Mutant Why does it take twice as long? If you are uploading to more than one user, it will help slow connections because you are giving random unique chunks to different users. Those users can then upload to each other without you even being connected. If you have a 1GB file to upload, after uploading about 1.1GB to the users they then have all the chunks they need to finish the file between themselves without you connected. This removes the problem of having to upload the 1GB file to User B, then User C, and User D sequentially (totalling 3GB) Option would only take effect on users requesting chunks off you. Not if you disabled it yourself. Dynamic segment size based on speed still works, we have tested it numerous times. It will change though, because it doesn't work efficiently. If a fast user has a large chunk, all other partials users are sat waiting till smaller random chunks are available. It takes longer for the whole swarm to finish the file. We have also prioritised first and last segments for video files for next release, so users can preview and confirm they aren't fake before completing the download. During our tests we had users on very fast connections... we couldn't max their upload speed. Nobody reported any drops in download speed towards the end of the file. We will test this next change before release. I suggest you join in and realise the potential, especially over DHT with SDC <-> Apex users.
-
Bring on the speed! ApexDC++ 1.3.6 changes the way in which segments are downloaded. The new randomised approach allows for new files to be distributed better across a group of ApexDC++ downloaders. Ultimately, this will provide a better speed over other clients. Other improvements include a new Plugin API update - so make sure you grab the new plugins - and a minor feature addition. Download: ApexDC++ 1.3.6

[REQUEST]Searching over DHT network also with keywords

Best person to ask would be BM, author of DHT. I guess eventually this might be planned. -
A new update to ApexDC++ is now available to download. This version comes with DHT enabled by default and can be switched off in settings. We believe it will enhance our users' download experience by finding more sources for files. We have a What is DHT? guide for anybody wanting to find out more information. You can read the full release notes or download the update immediately from our download page. Please use our new tracker to report any issues with this version.

Is this on all hubs?
-
Have you hidden your share by accident? Go to favourite hubs > Properties of the hub you are in... check the hide share option.
-
The number next to your username represents how much you have shared in your filelist. 0b suggests you are uploading files that you are downloading, but not actually sharing anything back to a hub. Go to Settings > Sharing and select some folders/files to share.

PWDC++ is roughy 5 years old. Time to upgrade? :)
-
Spybot has deteriorated in recent years but still free, I'd suggest Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Let us know if you're problem returns. It's strange how they associate it with ApexDC++, maybe you downloaded the virus through the program?
-
The only way ApexDC++ could ever land on your computer is if somebody downloaded and installed it. I have never heard of the above programs and are not associated with ApexDC++ in anyway. Maybe you downloaded them? Either way, purchase some decent Anti-Virus and Anti-malware programs and do full scans. Hijackthis is a better tool than "The Ultimate Trouble Shooter". Good luck. :)

Hey jack, welcome to the forums. When you install ApexDC++ with our setup file, it'll ask you whether you want to store settings per user account. If that is selected, you need to delete dcppboot.xml from the AppData/ApexDC++ folder under the hidden Users folder. Let me know if you have anymore problems.

Please try a hub that uses encryption to see if you can bypass ISP throttling. They start with adcs://
-
Hi fyrekrig, Have you definitely forwarded your ports correctly?
-
On a university network I highly doubt you'll be allowed to open up any ports that ApexDC needs.
