  1. Global hotkeys

    for traffic limitation while the game is running .... have you tried cFos (if you have a router: cFosSpeed) .... it's a small program I use, not eating up all my resources (actually almost nothing) and "shapes" the traffic .... with win xp and vista you can set which application should have higher priority and which should have lower ... for example I set DC++ to have lower, MSN to have higher, and browser to have high --> even when dc++ is running and could run with even taking all upload and download bandwidth, this software lets other applications to use the connection ---> web pages won't be slower, but dc++ download/upload will be slower while downloading the actual webpage ... when finished downloading it dc++ gets the whole connection speed again. it is not banned on hubs (or at least in hungary) as it doesn't really limit the connection speed, but "shapes" it try if you haven't found any better yet
  2. IP auto update

    i have dynamic ip too and don't have any errors ... i go further .... i've regged a dynamic dns address for free and set my router to update it when connecting ---> actually i use "don't update IP" every startup and put there my dns name ... could be a solution if you have a router
  3. ==HELP==

    Batusay: if you check the bugreports section in this forum this exception info is already pasted there several times .... so the devs know about the bug, and as far as i know in the new beta version it is fixed ..... try to use 0.4.0 until the new beta is ready for the public and about hashing ..... use google as i am absolutely sure that google can explain hashing better than me (i can only repeat my ex-teachers about hashing, but i'm sure that's not an easy to understand stuff for ppl )
  4. [Resolved] Import download queue from DC++

    Hi abruptum! There is a way to import for example queue or favorite hubs/users into apexdc ..... just look for your .xml files in your original DC++ dir and copy them to ApexDC++\Settings dir..... - ADLSearch.xml (ADL search ) - DCPlusPlus.xml (your DC settings ... but as Apex has many more stuff available to set, you'll have to check through your settings after importing this one and tick/untick what you want) - Favorites.xml (the favorite hubs+users) - Hashdata.dat (this one and the next one is your hash data!) - HashIndex.xml (I'm not sure in theese "hash" files, so someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think hashing procedure changed in the past years, so should work) - Queue.xml (this is your download queue ... if you copy it into apex' settings dir, you'll see the queue in apex too .... maybe you'll have to search for altenates, but keep that in mind, this is a multi-source client, unlike normal DC++ ) - Recents.xml (your recenetly visited hubs' list) .... so I guess there is a way to import settings and stuff from old DC++ .... but it really shouldn't take long to check and set the Apex settings, and to tell the client to hash in again all your stuff (it will be done anyway when you select refresh filelist in some amount of time, and it really shouldn't take long unless you have 10 tera of share ) .... the really important stuff to copy from old DC++ to ApexDC++\Settings are favorites.xml and queue.xml ... i hope this kinda answer could help you :)
  5. So, probably you too meet with hubs where if you get banned hammering keeps reseting the bantime .... i don't knwo if i could write it down clearly, but i'm thinking of that for example i'm banned for 24 hours and if i reconnect after 20 hours, the hub sends the message hammering makes bantime restart (or sg like that ... i haven't received such messages recently ) ... and the bantime goes up to the original 24 h instead of the remaining 4 hours ..... so, my question: is there a way to do sg against it, because if i don't check the pc severaly ... this could take longer than it should .... instead i correct the cause of the kick+ban and reconnect when the ban is over ..... it's a long long time i've worked with c++, but is it a possible like having a script checker ... like if the line we get from the hub contains [xxh] or [xx:xx] or sg like that then reconnecttime=reconnecttime+xx*24*60*60 .... or some even more simply way? ... just an idea :unsure:
  6. Connection closed & Connection timeout

    tadaaammmm ... now from my mother-in-law's place ... where this connection timeout, connection closed and suddenly disconnecting from hub happens ... it's amazing that the speedtest said this: (I've tried it several times and nearly the same results .... i thought they only have 10 M download )
  7. [18:14:18] *** A létező kapcsolatot a távoli állomás kényszerítetten bezárta. ... [18:21:44] <xyz> Your nickname is registered, please provide a password [18:21:44] *** Stored password sent... [18:21:44] *** Connection closed The first line could be sg like: "The existing connection is being forcibly closed by the remote workstation (server in this case)" so i get this message frequently from every kind of hubs .... ynhub, ptokax .... every version of theese .... no regard to what my role is on the hub ( VIP, SU, OP, REG, simple user ...) .... and it sometimes gets annoying ... when leaving the client and finding after some hours that i'm disconnected from half of the hubs, and it is not connecting back automatically .... this not happens of course instantly ..... it's sg happening about some hours after starting the client. i don't have any limiter (neither inside the client, nor outside) and also ... i have the message "connection closed" and "connection timeout" from (as i investigated in the past few days) almost any kind of dc++ clients (czdc, bcdc, peerwed , strong -older and newer too) my client has the setting "Allow all" in the firewall ... and I discussed this connection closed with some users and they say they didn't disconnect me (i even trust some of them, as i know them personally ) so my question --> is this a problem with my connection or possible problem with the software? does anyone else has this problem? and my favorite question --> is there a solution for this issue? :unsure:
  8. i know .... but i was talking about that the client automatically reconnects to the hubs, which consider this as hammering and resets the bantime to the original..... and that is the one i'd like to get solved or sg .... and was thinking of sg like checking the received string for common timestamps as bantime .... and setting the waiting time before reconnection to later date&time so it won't keep reseting the bantime .... sometimes it was a week (when i got banned before) .... and it is annoying when you leave your pc running with dc++ on for some days and when coming back, seeing that you're still banned for a lot of time from some hubs ..... and you're right, i'll just have to correct what i did wrong, but this would only be a small comfortability in the software, what oters don't have and as i wrote before it's been quite a long time i used c++ for programming, so don't know if it can be solved with a simple 20-25 line part or much harder and longer .... as checking a string and having one more int in the program should not take that much memory and cpu capacity :] .... i remember when i got F- for a program which used about 40 KB more memory than the teacher calculated on a pc with 64 MB ....so when we have computers now with 512 or more MB of RAM .... it really doesn't matter .... only if it's too complicated.
  9. Apex as a sevice/daemon

    ... and even crashes sometimes when simply looking at "Download queue" ..... the devs are already informed about it and they are working on the solution :D
  10. Connection closed & Connection timeout

    i also did this speedtest again .... and found that i'm almost as fast as asia 3dfx: actually this problem doesn't appear when i'm using bare DC++ ..... only with apex 1.0.0B2 (but also happened sometimes with 0.4.0 ... when running for several days without a restart) and actually when not disconnecting (when only connected to less then about 10 hubs) download is actually around 400 kilobytes/sec and i couldn't even use my browser while the client was running, because my pc had completely died while this fast speed was seen :D
  11. Connection closed & Connection timeout

    here my modem and my pc are also on batteries too (so this power fluctuations are not the case .... as i check it all the time and i get a warning each time there is power probelm -- no warnings yet) and here no need to reset the connection or reboot the modem .... the way i can reconnect to the hubs is ---> close the hub's window and then re-open it from favorite hubs window ... this way i can reconnect ..... instead of clicking "reconnect to hub" (this one doesn't work here too ) and as Noctis said ... hungarian ISPs s*ck and tested .... this doesn't happen to normal dc++ client (i have one installed on my pc to test if i can reproducate the problem with that too ) the firewall (and antivir) i use is kaspersky IS6 ... well set. i'm on ADSL connection, but the same happens when testing at my mother-in-law's .... they are on cable connection, different ISP with real fast connection speed ( 10M/10M ) --> same happens. so really a weird one
  12. [1.0.0B2][Bug] Emulation problems

    so i won't get detected as DC++ emulator if i tict that one on the favhubs settings and use new connection type instead of the old, right? as before i was banned from some hubs saying i'm using a different client and only emulating simple dc++ ... i hope this one will solve my problem and i won't be considered as a cheater with multisourced client :)
  13. ApexDC++ 1.0.0B2 Installer

    i used to be a noob back in the good old days .... but i have to agree with you anyway ... it's really not that difficult, don't think big masses will have problem with this.
  14. sorry about that .. i'm still a little dizzy ... need some sleep sometime.
  15. actually i have a similar kinda problem too .... when downloading several files in the same time (for example 10-15) ... or simply there are some huge files (like 2 or 3 with at least 500 MB of size) ..... CPU usage goes up to 60-70 sometimes 90% ... memory usage is always around 50-80 MB (i don't know how many should it be, or how it is on others' computers, but this is much less than before with 0.4.0 or with other strong-based clients) my CPU is a clumpsy celeron 2.4 (but this is usually similar on my laptop ... i mean 50-70% CPU usage and 90 MB memory usage ... that laptop has coreduo proc 1.8 Mhz) i only use kaspersky IS, cfos speed, and avant browser or explorer on this pc (the one with the celeron cpu) which could take much of the resources, but they don't ... and so neither programmes. nod32 on the laptop and lotus softwares .... but the same there ..... dc clients always eat up almost all resources on my pc-s btw .... this new version ... 1.0.0b2 have frozen several times here without any message generated ... just closing itself, when trying to remove a file from the download queue, or just checking the download queue ... i haven't meet with other kinds of freezes with this version yet (hopefully forever ) i have a bit slow connection .... 512K/128K ... if that would be the root cause of the problem.
  16. Released: ApexDC++ 1.0.0 Beta 2

    this version really works fine here...... doesn't eat up my processor's all capacity, takes much less memory than for example 0.4.0 ..... and i also tried to reproducate the errors which were mentioned on the forum, but couldn't. so ignore my gratulations on the 1.0.0 and take it for the 1.0.0B2 :)
  17. Released: ApexDC++ 1.0.0 Beta

    i really can't wait to try it .... i just only have to get home ... i'll have some days to try, as my doc said that i should stay home form some days, for example for 30 days i just have to get a ride home congrats on the huge step
  18. My favorite Hub & user list has been deleted

    WIZ278: i also had this problem ... "dissappearing favorites.xml" ... and as it was mentioned before, it is present when Apex is not closed properly (for example closing it using the task manager or sg ... ) .... because when the client starts, it loads the favorites.xml and deletes it from the harddrive, to ensure that it doesn't change during the use of it ... and when you click on exit -> it'll write the file back to the hard-drive again, during the time apex runs, it'll be in the memory (as i remember, but i'm maybe wrong) wo if you have this problem coming back ... guess the best way is to make a backup, as you said. on my computer apex usually "freezes" without any error message :] ... so i have these kinds of backups for a long time now :stuart: so when dc is running, check if the file is still there or not (guess it won't be there, or even if it's there, it'll be overwritten when exiting apex, and that's why the stuff in it will remain even after pressing clear button, while running apex)
  19. [bug] 0.4.0 disconnecting hubs

    yeah, wierd ... but it's working again now ... so i guess it's really the isp's stuff here. as these kinda problems: "sometimes yes, sometimes no" mainly come from the non-constant stuff, like the internet provider. problem solved? :)
  20. hi there, i guess i have some problem again ... at my mother-in-law ... when we start apex it connects to all hubs we want, but after a few minutes one hub sais connection timeout, and the hub disconnects us, then another and so on ... all hubs do it. wether i set dc emulation on or off, turn the firewall off ... until they disconnect us, all downloads are coming pretty good. we didn't have this problem with 0.2.0 or 0.3.0, and the clients before. what can cause this? any ideas? anyone? i gotta keep friends with her if i wanna merry her daughter :whistling:
  21. [bug] 0.4.0 disconnecting hubs

    the exact list of hubs where this problem occurs: Server="rap-hiphop.myip.hu:911" Server="writersparadise.myip.hu:3200" Server="diablohub.myip.hu:4111" Server="goldengate-hub.sytes.net:4111" Server="matrix-hub.no-ip.com" Server="erotika.myip.hu:9811" Server="elite.4242.hu:4242" Server="dc5.abc-network.nu:444" Server="thebasement.s-mnet.org:27015" Server="420Kings.420NET.org:420" Server="1.adrenaline-network.com:2411" Server="scumbagz.no-ip.info" Server="techgeeks.geekgalaxy.com:1411" Server="junglist.no-ip.com" Server="tarnowhub1.pl:5555" Server="wanadoo.myip.hu:3980" i wanted to add this before, but had veryvery much work ..... although everyone sais that ppl from india are really great and wrk hard and really good .... i cannot say the same hope i won't be away for so long again soon :)
  22. sg like this? -> http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=1220 on which hubs does this happen?
  23. Need help please anyone

    indeed :)
  24. [bug] 0.4.0 disconnecting hubs

    i've written some short message in private on the support hub to you zlobomir about it's okay now, but ..... at that time there were no huge download queues .... i might guess that this whole thing happens when there are 4 or 5+ huge files are downloading simultanously (700mb or 1gb+) when there are many smaller files, the problem is not present, but right at the time she starts downloading for example 2 dvds the hubs suddenly disconnect the client.
  25. [bug] 0.4.0 disconnecting hubs

    :stuart: the connection is one of the best in hungary and of course we have a good ping this problem is only coming when i use this client. i thought first that the provider is doing some tricks, but others having no problem using dc from the same netsupporter company. some days are passed now, i think i'll try again today, after work, and write again here what happened ;)
