sooo, what is this good for? is it a chat-only "client" which can be only run on the same computer as the hub?
-
No way. Change your nick and connect to the hub and register again with that new nick and new password. Besides, this has nothing to do with ApexDC++, it has to do with that particular hub only :)

Okay. I can see you don't get a public IP address on the WAN interface of your router. You only get 10.12.12.54 so that's why you cannot be active for Internet hubs. Therefore, if you set both your clients to Passive mode (worst case), connections to Internet users should work if you enter your external (that is, not 192. and not 10. one) IP address in the External/WAN IP field. If you set 10.12.12.54 there, connections for you will be possible for other CommunityNet users but not to Internet users. Don't forget to change youur Bind address back to 0.0.0.0 Currently, you cannot set the "Firewall with manual port forwarding" to a specific hub so passive is the only option. If you are not going to access Internet hubs from a client, then set Firewall with manual port forwarding in your connection settings. Set 34690 as your TCP port, 34691 as UDP port, and 34692 for both the TLS/TCP and DHT/UDP ports. Set the External / WAN IP address to 10.12.12.54. Note that using these settings, you won't be able to connect to a client running on another machine in your internal network (192.168.xxx.xxx address). But you should be able to connect to other CommunityNet users with 10.x.x.x addresses. I am afraid your network setup is too complicated for a DC client to be configured universally.

Well, we could do more if you could post a picture of your network with addressing scheme explained (IP addresses of networks and their netmasks), with the place of the two DC clients and the hub denoted. Perhaps I have made an errorneous assumption when reading your description :)
-
uhh... maybe. Try PtokaX and see if it changes.

The first issue I can see is the Bind address (network interface of all connections). Set is to 0.0.0.0 as was the default, in both clients. Active/Passive refer to the 4 radio buttons in the connection window: the first three are basically active mode, the last one (firewalled - passive, worst case) is passive. Here, set it to Passive for both clients. Save your LAN hub into favorite hubs and enter its properties window. In the right pane, you can specify Direct connection and enter the internal IP of your PC in LAN, see the screenshot (sorry this is in Slovak but you should get the idea). Reconnect to the hub and it should be working. Do this for both clients. //also, please use the attachment feature in this forum for screenshots so that they do not disappear during time...
-
Does the hub run on the same machine/network you are using? Also, are you passive or active in the two hubs? If active, which of the three setting options applies to you in Connection settings?
-
Ah, I really didn't know about this feature But I have tried some combinations and Shift+F3 seems to be working for what you need
-
I don't think F3 is a hotkey in ApexDC++. Could you be more specific...?
-
Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address ?
Mek replied to dcuserdc's topic in Support
Change your IP address in Settings - Connection settings (External / WAN IP) to 85.230.82.154 -
What is this...? More information, please...

This setting has to do with the partial file sharing (yes, it works like BitTorrent as you correctly guessed). It means that for 60 minutes (default) after completing the download, the file will be seeded for partial downloads - that means when someone search for its TTH, it will find the file stating that you are sharing it (however, it will not be visible by searching other way than using its TTH). I really don't know what could cause your problem (and even that it is sharing the file between session). Maybe someone with more insight into this could provide a possible explanation. What has now come into my mind is that you could try pressing Ctrl-O (opens your own filelist) and see what folders you are sharing.
-
This is very odd. Are you absolutely sure the files aren't in a shared folder? Otherwise, only the partial file sharing feature comes to my mind which often causes confusion - but the files shared this way are no longer shared when restarting the client. To disable partial file sharing, you have to disable segmented downloads completely.

For this purpose, I minimize ApexDC++ to tray before I am going to do anything in fullscreen. And in my (well, lenghty ) away message I have written that "I watch a movie, or play a game, or am not at my computer" :D
-
Also it's worth noting that the "TLS" port is just another TCP port (to avoid confusion).
-
Turn off DHT in Settings - Advanced - Publish shared files on DHT.
-
No, that's his policy. But just to make sure, ask them if they block DC.
-
You are getting timeouts... looks like your ISP is blocking DC connections. There isn't much you can do besides changing the ISP.
-
What does it mean "not working"? I mean, what does it do when trying to connect to a hub? Paste the lines it writes you, here in the forum so we can help you. Also, the newest version of ApexDC++ is 1.3.9, please upgrade to that and see if the problem goes away.

Don't use Program Files for ApexDC++ (it doesn't have write permissions there if you are using Vista or 7), rather choose another drive, for example D: if you have one. The favorites.xml file should be placed into the Settings subdirectory of ApexDC++ directory. However, the settings folder can be under your AppData folder if you have used the installer to install ApexDC++ and left everything as default. I would guess it is "C:\Users\<your username here>\AppData\Roaming" but I don't know for sure because I always use the zipped version of ApexDC++.
-
It's perfectly fine that someone from DHT is downloading from you. That's the way DHT works (can't find a thread with it explained right now, it says it didn't find anything for "dht"...) As for the settings loss, yes, it can be caused by the electricity fault. Also, make sure ApexDC++ has write permissions to its Settings directory; a common sign of this not fullfilled is the loss of settings on closing the program.

Or use a shortcut key: Ctrl-E.

Well, if you don't pass the connection test, you probably are still able to work in passive mode.
