PC freezes with apex

Whenever i open apex dc++, it works properly but after 2-3 minutes it gets stuck up. My pc also freezes.

I have latest version of apex dc++ (1.5.3)

i've tried to turn off the firewall & antivirus as well but still my pc freezes

what should i do??????????

What happens if you close all the hubs you're connected to? Connect to them one at a time and try to figure out what causes the freeze.

Just wanted to post that i am having the same problem trying to run ver. 1.5.8 on windows 8.1, it was actually working fine but then i had to refresh windows and reinstall everything. I am not on any hubs ive just been trying to hash files. Also this happens with all dc++ programs rsx++, air, strong, eskalit they all hang up my pc so i have to hard reset. It also does this when i am offline.  Ive given allowances for them on my firewall and scanned with norton avg and malware bytes, so i have no viruses. So atm i have no idea what else to do to get it to start working again.
