Cheating users problem

3 posts in this topic

Hi there,

I have been using ApexDC++ for about a year now and always update when a new revision comes along.

I am a member of a private hub with all users being members of a forum.

Recently I have been unable to connect to many of the users to even download a file list, yet they can connect to me. I keep getting a timeout.

I just noticed that I get a message to say they are 'cheating users'. Why is this? Is this the reason I cannot connect?

In previous versions I did not have this issue

Can you help please.

Many thanks

golfnut

You'll need to double check that you've correctly forwarded the TLS port. This guide will help you find where that is. ;)

I certainly have not altered my router settings since updating Apex yet the problem now exists where it did not.

However, I forwarded another port for TLS and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Perhaps when I updated it did not inherit the settings fully.

The settings in the security section of the client were all checked as shown in the guide.

Anyway, it seems you have helped solve my problem.

Many thanks for your speedy reply.
