Searching for a few things

3 posts in this topic

Hi,

I'd like to see an option to have checkbox for file types to search. Or at least 1 checkbox that would tell "Show directories" and would show directories that either matches the search or contains files that matched the search... also it would be great if we had a "+" sight at the beginning of name of each directory and so could see what the dirrectory contains.

The reasons I'm asking are:

1. It's sometimes annoying to "get filelist" of dictionaries

2. When you search for some files that might or might not consist of few files (like movies with few cd's) you might wanna see both - dictionaries and files

To do this you would need to download the file list of every user who returned a search result. I dont think the functionality is possible. Just incase you mist it you can search by catagory. e.g. vidieo (avi, mpeg, ..) image (jpeg, gif, bmp ...) and so on. however this is is restricted to the predifined list below. With the current protocol it is not possible to get anymore control then this.

  • for any file type
  • for audio files ("mp3", "mp2", "wav", "au", "rm", "mid", "sm")
  • for compressed files ("zip", "arj", "rar", "lzh", "gz", "z", "arc", "pak")
  • for documents ("doc", "txt", "wri", "pdf", "ps", "tex")
  • for executables ("pm", "exe", "bat", "com")
  • for pictures ("gif", "jpg", "jpeg", "bmp", "pcx", "png", "wmf", "psd")
  • for video ("mpg", "mpeg", "avi", "asf", "mov")
  • for folders
  • for TTHSearch
