I've updated it to help beginners. Thanks for the scripts though, should be useful. :)

Provide a screenshot of that message please. Thanks for the report.

We know, we're trying to find out what causes the crashes and then we'll fix them. So post as much information as you can in the correct topic (if there's already one in the crash forum). In the meantime stay out of the download queue, it should reduce the crashes. :)

You should submit this as a guide with cleaner formatting. Nice work.

Updated guide: You must close the program before upgrading.
-
When running the setup file, tell it to install where the previous version is (Program Files/ApexDC++ is the default location).
-
It's common sense to close a program before updating it. I'll look to place a warning somewhere though. DC is for noobs too, don't forget our userbase.

That's true. :)

[1.0.0B2][Bug] Media Player Classic uses up to 75% CPU
Lee replied to Lizard's topic in Pre 1.0 Reports
I was talking about with the Media Player, not general usage. :) -

Moved to Bugs, does anybody else experience the same usage? -
AggyTheSlyFox: These are "emails". This is a "forum", you are "posting" in a "topic". Now stop spamming (I've deleted your first post again). Searching for alternatives is going into the download queue, and there's a known bug/crash that causes ApexDC++ to stop responding or close. Those aren't your exact steps. Are you using the setup file? You must be telling the setup file to install in a new program files location, so there's no data. Nobody else is getting this problem.
-
That's because people need to submit guides. Both the guides forum and a wiki would require other people to help out when conetnt isn't available.
-
Aggy, I don't know you're technique with posting, but stop replying to a post with just a quote and then replying in a second post. I keep having to delete your first post. The setup file cannot overwrite your favourites, queue, hash files, it's not told to. What's your process in upgrading?
-
Antilles, you don't need to paste the same crash report (even if it crashes with same report) multiple times. It's a waste of space. We're aware of the problem (again).
-
Split the crash reports, don't post them here! Put them in the Bugs and Crashes forum. :D
-
We launched a wiki for PeerWeb DC++ and it wasn't much use, or in fact used.
-
Topic split.. we've seen this exception before. I believe it's still the critical crash a lot of people are having, but because you're running Vista it's not giving us the full exception info. Thanks for reporting.
-
The setup file shouldn't touch anything in the settings area other than importing a new GEOIP if you've already got a previous version.
-
This has already been reported here. Thanks. :D
-
Stop spamming. We know about LinuxDC++.
-
One is enough.

When I saw the new post i was dreading the "It's crashing in Beta 2, as well" post. Thanks for the report. :D
