  1. Bug Tracker question

    There isn't a forum for IP.Tracker, I have setup a custom redirect forum. And IPB's nature is to have redirects always shown as unread. Maybe in the next version of IP.Tracker they will allow an option to display it directly on the forums.
  2. Downloading new versions

    Great We should release a slim package each time yes, just check out the SourceForge page for a full list of files.
  3. DHT banned in hubs

    Point your hub owner to this topic, and tell him to reply with his stance if need be. DHT can be detected when a user enters their hub and they can block the user from entering with a clear message as to why. For example: "You have been disconnected because we have detected the DHT global network is running. We do not allow this in our private hub for user's security. Please disable this by going to Settings > Advanced > "Publish shared files on DHT" and reconnect." If your hub owner continues to block all future versions of ApexDC++, users are open to a lack of compatibility and future development opportunities.
  4. Released: ApexDC++ 1.3.5

    Yep, thanks. The customise page has a few translations ready for 1.3.5.
  5. We've had a look at this before... but will have to wait till the wxwidgets UI rewrite is complete.
  6. Downloading new versions

    Hey Renee, Have you tried downloading the Slim package and seeing whether you can get the exe? It seems like your firewall or anti-virus might be blocking this. Maybe try disabling that temporarily if you cannot download the slim version.
  7. What is DHT?

    DHT now comes enabled by default with 1.3.5 and above. What is DHT? A Distributed Hash Table (DHT) is a hash table allowing nodes (the user) to be connected to each other without being in the same hubs. The advantage of this is that when you are searching for more users to download from, you do not have to be in the same hub as the user. DHT will automatically search the users you need across the global network of users. What is the advantage? You reach more users, and affectively have more sources to download fromFaster download speedsFind more sources for rare files in your download queueWhat does DHT store? DHT uses the CID, IP and port from a user. It does not connect to anybody else inside a private hub, only the user with DHT enabled. How do I disable it? Go to File > Settings and then Advanced > "Publish shared files on DHT". Here is a screenshot: I am a hub owner, and do not want users with DHT enabled on my hub. When a user is connected to DHT, ApexDC++ sends SUP message to the hub (ADC). That way the hub owner can detect and send the user a message explaining how to disable DHT before entering the hub.
  8. Forum downtime

    We apologise for the recent downtime that the forums received over the past week. We encountered a problem when upgrading to the latest version of IPB, our forum software. This has been resolved after extending our support license with the company. On a positive note, we have been progressing with program development and should see 1.3.5 soon. This new update will bring, among others, an important change - DHT will come enabled by default. It provides users with the ability to find more sources and achieve faster downloads. We have been testing it and feel it's ready to push to everybody. It is possible to disable this in settings. As always, we are still heavily focusing on 2.0 and will provide teasers at some point. :)
  9. Hwq.exe and ApexDC++

    It has nothing to do with us. Delete it and double check that you aren't infected. :)
  10. Hwq.exe and ApexDC++

    Run an anti-malware program immediately. You must have downloaded it.
  11. [1.3.4]Freezing the system

    Have you tried memtest?
  12. Help me with these port settings will you?

    Enter some random port numbers above 2000 or so. For example: 2001,2002,2003. Then forward each of these ports through your router. At that stage, restart your client and test your connection.
  13. Released: ApexDC++ 1.3.3

    Today we announce a maintenance update to our stable branch. It includes important fixes from DC++ and StrongDC++, with a few fixes of our own. We have also tweaked the behaviour of the update check to allow people more freedom to upgrade. If you select "Later" in the update check it will not remind for another three days. Plugins used for 1.3.2 should run on 1.3.3. We have had a decent amount of applicants for our listed jobs, but we're still looking for help porting to Linux.
  14. Limits not working

    :blink:
  15. adc q

    Best place to find about ADC is probably http://www.adcportal.com/wiki/ . However, we're going to promote it a little more once we've got some time.
  16. Released: ApexDC++ 1.3.4

    We don't have any Finnish translators, want to volunteer? :thumbsup: kowo: There is also no documentation in German or Polish.
  17. Released: ApexDC++ 1.3.4

    The management team are pleased to announce a new update to ApexDC++. This update improves stability by fixing bugs and includes patches from DC++ and StrongDC++. There are a select few translations updated ready for 1.3.4. Work on ApexDC++ for Mac and Linux continues internally. Let us know if you're interested in helping out (coding or testing) by contacting us on the forums. If you would like to share some ideas for future versions, register and drop by our feature requests forum. Download: ApexDC++ 1.3.4
  18. Upgrade from Strong DC

    You'll need to place all of those in the User/AppData hidden folder if you installed dcppboot.xml with the setup file.
  19. The Ghost Writer

    We do not promote the use of our program for copyright infringement. :thumbsup: Closed.
  20. No timeframe, end of summer the earliest.
  21. It is something we're considering for 2.0 - different shares per hub. But we feel it could lead to users just sharing the minimum amount of share per hub instead of their full share.
  22. Released: ApexDC++ 1.3.3

    There is no reason for private hubs not to upgrade. We have contact with a lot of them and they upgrade each time. Updates are forced for users and network security. Simple as that... if you don't like it I suggest moving to a project that allows you to run outdated and potentially harmful software. ApexDC++ will always automatically check for new updates to keep older versions out of DC.
  23. This is something we'll include in 2.0.
  24. Downloading Public Hub Lists.....

    What happened if you use passive mode?
