  1. update 1.4.2 wiped out hash data

Did you run the installer and install dcppboot.xml into the ApexDC++ directory? This would be why your favourites are not being used when importing them back into the Settings folder. In this case, insert them into the hidden AppData/ApexDC++ folder. Edit: I've created a new tracker issue regarding this. Please add to it if you have anymore information...
  2. After a few of our members asked for the old user country flags back (pictured below), Mek has worked hard on updating them for us in his spare time. We have updated the LuaPlugin to use LuaJIT (provides considerable performance increase) and our setup now downloads the latest GeoIP database before installing. The randomised chunk distribution is now optional and can be activated in the Settings - Downloads/Queue area below. We suggest you enable this if you want to spread a new file across multiple users faster (like uTorrent). Find out what else has changed in this version. Download: ApexDC++ 1.4.2
  3. Released: 1.4.2... country flags are back!

Upgrade to the latest WinRAR and it will work correctly. We are using LZMA2 compression, which WinRAR 3.91+ can read. Alternatively you can use 7-zip 9.20 (it's free). Do the country flags display in the userlist? If not, make sure you have placed the GeoIP database into the ApexDC++ root directory. :)
  4. Released: 1.4.2... country flags are back!

Just to let everyone know the following translations have been made available for 1.4.2: GermanPolishRussianRomanianItalianSlovakSpanishBrazilian Portuguese If your language has not been updated yet and you'd like to help out, please send me a PM. :)
  5. Malware Warning for older Setup File

Thanks for bringing this up privatemeta. I wanted to address this at some point. OpenCandy was our integrated engine for 1.3.9 and below, but they have had trouble with security companies and false positive reports. This is one of the reasons we decided to move towards Conduit. I would suggest using the slim downloads for previous versions if you don't want to use the OpenCandy engine.
  6. Released: 1.4.2... country flags are back!

Has been sorted. I have uploaded some of the new translations available. We will be pushing existing 1.3.9 users to upgrade later today (due to security updates in 1.4.1).
  7. Migrating Apex to a New Computer

If you used the installer and did not uncheck "Store settings per Windows user account" then dcppboot.xml will be placed in the Program Files directory. Delete this file and you'll have the settings back in the Program Files directory. The advantage of using the AppData approach is that you don't have to mess with the privileges when installed to Program Files. :)
  8. Apex Download page

Fixed FlopP. That's what happens when you release late at night. :D
  9. Migrating Apex to a New Computer

Zip up the directory but delete dcplusplus.xml and the hashdata. You will need to reconfigure your settings but that's the best way. :)
  10. what does the speed of dc depends upon ?

It depends on what program they use, but generally it's displayed in Connections column in Userlist. :)
  11. what does the speed of dc depends upon ?

It depends on the upload speed of the person you're downloading off. So if you're downloading from multiple people, chances are your download speed will increase. :)
  12. Released: Welcome to a Stable 1.4.1!

Try a fresh install, the freeze relating to country flags has been fixed, so this must be different. Sounds like your system is unstable if other programs are freezing too. Do you get any exceptioninfo.txt generated in the program directory?
  13. So after some reports of hanging on the 1.4.0 release that was announced earlier last week, we have pushed out a new update to fix these remaining issues. Thanks to all who reported these issues so we could resolve them quickly (especially FlopP, Mek and Old Indain). Please check out what new features 1.4 brings by reading our previous announcement. Download: ApexDC++ 1.4.1
  14. Network/Connectivity Issues

Oh great, DC people fail to move on these days. Closed before more shit hits the fan.
  15. Released: Welcome to ApexDC 1.4

As always. And thanks Old Indain, but a fix is on the way. ;)
  16. Released: Welcome to ApexDC 1.4

We are pleased to announce our first featured update since 1.3 was first introduced. We have merged with StrongDC++ 2.42 to keep up with Big Muscle's improvements, introduced a more efficient installer using Inno, rewritten the webserver area that was initially planned for 2.0, and more! 1.4.0 follows StrongDC++'s decision to disable emulation by default on all hubs (please let your hub owners aware of this, otherwise they may be unknowingly blocking ApexDC users). This can be configured under favourite hub properties if you wish. Our new installer detects your system language and processor architecture (32bit or 64bit), has a cleaner uninstall and removes OpenCandy integration in favour of our own ApexDC Toolbar. You will still need to confirm the installation of the ApexDC Toolbar and it can be uninstalled at any time. The webserver changes mean that you no longer use the templates on apexdc.net and load them locally. There are lots more changes so check out the page for more details. Let us know what you think! Download: ApexDC++ 1.4.0
  17. Released: Welcome to ApexDC 1.4

How old? It'll be because we rewrote the setup script using Inno, but I'm positive I downloaded the latest GeoIP database. If you have a copy of the working GeoIP then by all means send it over. B)
  18. Tour image links are broken

I notice couple thousands hits on it every few weeks. Linked on our website you mean? Or externally?
  19. Released: Welcome to ApexDC 1.4

I've edited the post to avoid confusion Please post all issues you encounter in the tracker and help us reproduce them. If you are having frequent crashes/hangs then check out this issue specifically and see if it fixes the problem (it may be because you're running very old country code flags database).
  20. problem connecting to local ip

Yep, use this tracker issue: http://forums.apexdc.net/tracker/issue-82-140-apex-hangs/ B)
  21. StrongDC++ GUI rewrite

Jumping on the "Lee bosses Crise about" bandwagon are we. Do you think Crise would be still here if that was the case? He has equal control over decisions made. Exactly, so Crise's points above are valid (since you want to ignore mine, and brush over his). I can't believe you've posted in here without having access to the code for evidence. Your point is invalid. We have never claimed ApexDC is not a mod of StrongDC, so I don't know where you've got that from.
  22. 1.4.0 problem

Please put this in our tracker mezzzo. Thanks for reporting :)
  23. problem connecting to local ip

Send both me and Crise the address privately if you wish. :)
