  1. Isn't it possible, at the beginning of PM session, Apex to write in the PM winwow the window's title (it includes hub name)?

I know there was a topic for this, but can't find it, please merge.

i was thinking of a kinda similar thing ... like the pm's first line shows from which hub the user comes, cuz different hubs have different rules and it saves time to know where is she/he comes from :whistling:

  2. I have had similar connection problems to this in the past. Probably since version 2.00 of SDC. What I now do in order to get round this problem is to have 3 different ports open. A unique one for TCP, UDP and TLS. Since running port forwarding like this I have had no problems. :S

same thinh here, jsut using different ports for all.

guess it's a bug in sdc then :)

  3. you can lose slot only in hubs where the emulation is enabled.

So, you are in 2 hubs A and B => A with emulation, B without emulation.

You have file with 2 sources - one is in hub A, the second one is in hub B.

So you can lose slot only for first source which comes from hub A where the emulation is enabled.

thanks a lot :D then i'll leave emulation on those hubs where multisourced clients are not banned :P

  4. i also had/have this "slotloosing" problem, but i thought it's normal, cuz i had this with all multisource-clients ;)

so you say if i don't use that dc++ emulation that will solve the problem?

should i skip dc++ emulation on all hubs if i wanna skip this problem or only on those hubs where my sources are? cuz there are some hubs which don't like multisource clients :)

  5. Pedja, support for the old technologies will always be dropped at some point, and fulDC did it first for DC, as far as I know, then DC++ removed support for nmdc style filelists and now StrongDC has removed non-tth downloading... and I'm quite sure the list will continue to grow over time.

that's why we don't allow old dc clients to log in to our hubs. maybe less users, but no corrupted shares :D

i think it's another way to make ppl change their old stuff, like we always have to change our cars, and shoes, cuz they get old and unusable ... but unlike those changing client is for free.

i've also met with this problem, but simply asked the other guy to change the client to this one and voilá ... problem solved.

btw .... i've seen an option for checking exclude ... for example if someone is [VIP].... then nothing will happen if the op can't get his/her list, and again .... problem solved :)

  6. Sadly the beta isn´t out yet and we have no status on the op client. You are right, we opps really need a new good op client, i´m using Stealth Zion Blue now witch is ok apart for listlen and few crashes hehe.

that one suited me well too, but crashed too often on my pc (don't know what could be the problem)

that's why i've used other non-op clients since, so i'm waiting for it too (and these are those days when i'm so mad at myself why i didn't learn c++ much better back in the school years, cuz now i don't really have time for it, just workwork and work and a little fun ^_^

  7. Earlier today (17th November) we announced that the Update Check and Get (external) IP Address for 0.3.0 would be disfunctional for numerous days. This is due to previous versions being notified of this release.

After 20th November we expect everybody to have updated to 0.3.0 and therefore these two features will be working again.

Sorry for any inconvience, please help notify everybody of 0.3.0. :)

is this window is present because of this? or it's sg else? or what should i do? am i blind again not to see the solution?

or it is a totally different thig?

can you tell me what is NAT? :ermm: :)

  8. The fix that will keep me happy is this:

-Drop slow sources IF there are other sources like we currently do (using an arbitary limit if you have to).

-If the other sources go away for whatever reason, put the slow sources back to give them another chance.

as i also had this problem because of slow connections around the client usually removed the sources, and there was an option to "readd sources" ..... it's okay until i shutdown the client and then restart it (sg needs the pc to be restarted or changing hardware or just want to sleep :ermm: ) ..... it simply forgets about the readdable sources, so there will be no sources to readd to the files ... i know, automatic search will find them after a while, but still .... i also liked it when i could ask the client just to disconnect slow sources, not to remove them. :)

  9. name/nick(s): mainly [*something*]MiRaGe and somewhere something other :)

    gender : male

    age: 21 or 22 (1984-03-30)

country: hungary, not exactly in the middle

i don't know how to say my zodiac in english

my hobby is my bride, writing (i guess not in the way the others do ;) ) playing football (soccer :P ) with friends, been playing it as a semi-pro ^_^ , being with my friends, windsurfing during summers, and manymany others

i'm on dc since about the end of 2002 (when i got to university and got free and fast internet connection :)

the worst thing that happened to me on dc almost always happens when i switch to another client and i meet with all the bugs i can imagine

the best thing happened/happens on dc is that i got/get to know to ppl from almost every point of the world and they can help in summer or winter tours around europe (if i can get away from my workplace)

the funniest on dc ..... those things happen in real life, but it's fun to discuss stories through it on some proof hubs and reading others' stories ;)

  10. i know what will i do after work :) (maybe during work, hope i won't get fired ^_^ )

thanks for the new release guys

i've been waiting for escpecially these ->

Feature: Ignored users list now editable via settings

Feature: PG plugin updater system (new update once per month)

    Change: More translatable strings

when will there be an op-client if there will be one? :)

and also i'll start to translate it when finishing my "to dos" ;)

  11. so, this happened on my pc and on my girlfriend's pc too ....

after i close apexdc++ and restart it (maybe after shutting down the whole computer or without that) the client connects only to the default one hub (yours ;) ) .... and all the others seem to be dissapeared.

i found a favorites.xml.tmp file in the settings directory, so i made a second copy of it, maybe it'll happen again. when i copy it back, it's normal again and everything works smoothly. but if i don't make that second copy of it, it'll be overwritten by the default favorites.xml (which contains that one hub only) and all my favorite hubaddresses and usernames and passwords are lost.

once i've lost every address and password under pwdc++, so this problem was there too.

so, i'd like to tell you about this bug, and would like to advise to everyone to make a copy of your favorites.xml in another name (mine is favorites2.xml ;) )

  12. if you remove that ip from your favorite hub, and click in it's properties to "default" instead of passive, or active then it'll use the global set ip (in setup/connections).

or use dynamic dns service ... for example dyndns.org is free and it' working for me for some years ;)

you can set it in your router, or if you don't have a router, simply select "update ip on every startap" in dc++ settings/connections and try how oes it work.

this should solve your problem or i didn't understand it ;) :)

  13. today morning i turned off my pc so we could sleep in silence and when i trned it on an hour ago my old friend, this problem came back.

no downloading in active mode, no search result, just connecting to the hubs and nothing else.

manual port forwarding, not allowing nothing t overwrite the ip, i tried my wan ip, my local ip behind the router, and my dyndns address.

even tried these with setting dmz host, and after telling it direct connection (with dmz set in router) ... nothing.

in passive mode it could connect to all active users, then i switched back to actie with all correct settings which worked till the morning ... and the same, no downloading from anyone, and no search results.

so i tried the setings with strong dc 2.02 and the same. correct settings and no search results, no downloading from anyone.

so maybe i found a bug but i don't know what to do wih it ..... i hope that after a few closing and restarting of apex it'll work correctly again, but i don't want to do it every time :)

as i said before it sometimes present, sometimes not ... i even thought that it depends on with which leg does the pc get up :)

  14. btw .... it made me some headache that i couldn't manage downloading like this -> disconnect slow downloads, but don't remove slow users, only disconnect them when downloading speed is so much.

the client always disconnected and removed them from the sources list (here the internet speeds are also like 256K/128K 1024K/256K and sg like this)

and one of my other questions .... it doesn't check the file's tth root again, after downloading like pwdc did. am i blind or it just doesn't show it or it really doesn't check it?
