  1. Hello,

I don't know if this is an appropriate post for this forum. So I'll ask in advance. Are you allowed to post comments asking about hubs in specific?

  2. I haven't read the full post, but why not make the dht thing on by defult, but when you install the app, it should give you the option if you like to keep it on or off.

[edit] I mean, like in the start up wizzad, so it's obvious to users. Maybe dedicate a page to it, explain what it's all about exc.

[edit] most people who use dc++ are good with pc's, I'm sure they can find the one or other checkbox in a menu,

I personally think dht is a good thing. Torrents work a lot faster with DHT on.

  3. the +info thing doesn't seem to do it for me, but I see the idea/point here, thanks.

If I could get aphc++ thingy to work, then I would rather use that :--), posted someng in the other post...

thanks for the quick replies btw.

  4. i know im gonna talk to sulan and see if he can distribute adchpp with gui so everything works out of the box ;)

That would be nice, you mentioned ds hub is dated... now how do i get adchpp to work ... meh?

Kindly thank you for your replyies.

    Leo.

  5. Helloooo

    Environment:

    windows win7

    Request:

I got as far as setting up my own hub now, (dsHub)I would like to make it a private hub.

For this, only Registered users can join.

To register a user in need the users CID (identification?).

    Question:

How in the world do I find it?

    Addtitiona info:

If I set up dsHub in Public mode, and users connect, and I register Via Nick, then I can see the CID.

However, if my hub is set to private mode, you can't connect unless you're registered, and to register I need the cid .. sigh..?

The only solution I see is to host 2 hubs, one for registering, one for Private use, but that's rather inconvienent???? or is it not..>? hah?

    Thanks dudes,

  6. Hello,

Since I couldn't get ADCH++ to work out of the box, since I couldn't get the gui to work and I'm too lazy to read the .xml config file, I tested DShub in My vm.

Works niceley so far, I might use it on my Server =). Once setup I'll pm you dude

    Leo.

  7. ADCH++ perhaps i wrote an excellent guide for it and you can always get the latest version from our build archive

    http://builds.adcportal.com/

along with the guide ofc to configure and run it since ADCH++ is secure and saves bandwidth via bloom filter ;)

and as i said in the other post ADC support UTF-8 out of the box so all those crazy russian chars are intact

here is a blogpost i did on DC++ Blog

    http://dcpp.wordpres...ubsoft-rundown/

about diffrent ADC Hubsofts and if you are a gui frreak like most ynhub users are then im glad to report that there is a gui version of ADCH++

    https://sourceforge....ects/adchppgui/

    Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply, you seem to know your way around...

I'm trying to get the gui to work, but it doesn't do it for me..?

    I downloaded

    ADCH++

    downloaded gui

put gui files into the adch++ folder and overwrote a bunch of dlls

    adch++ starts

the main.exe gui pops up with error

    ---------------------------

    Errors occurred

    ---------------------------

See the logfile 'R:\ServerSoft\adc\adcsoft\main.exe.log' for details

    ---------------------------

    OK

    ---------------------------

    in log we see:

    Traceback (most recent call last):

    File "main.py", line 41, in <module>

    File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 82, in load_module

    File "MainWindow.pyo", line 28, in <module>

    File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 82, in load_module

    File "Help.pyo", line 3, in <module>

    File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 98, in load_module

    ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading PyQt4\QtWebKit.pyd

Hmm, ok, gooegled PyQt4 found the installer. Try to install it, it says that It wan't python to work.

So, do I need to install phyton, phyQt4 and then it will work, or do I need to copy a few files into the adc++ folder?

    Kind Regards

    Leo

  8. Hello dudes!!!

I'm running a sever at home (core 2 duo, 3.4 tb space (about 1.2 tb shared stuff), 24/24 mb connection) behind a router. But I have a public static ip with domain names. I live in Moscow btw.

I would like to create my own hub (100 users max), and get my friends to join it, so we can share our por.... ermmmnmmm.. photo collections.

    My questions being:

    - Which soft to use? What's your reccomendation?

    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6545

    - What sort of bandwitch would 20 users eat up?

    - which is easiest and fastest so set up (me like gui).

    - Please reccomend any set up tips, (scripts-should I use them? how do I set up a password protected hub?)

    fyi:

    - I consider my self to be a "fancy" computer user :---) , as I know my way round quite well, port forwarding bla bla.

e.g I set up Dc++ without knowing anything about it in about 20 mins and shared around 170 gb in 3 days, after which I realised the Software had an updload limit function O_o!

so feel free to say smart stuff, I'll use gOOgle to figure it out.

    Many thanks in advance!

p.s you're welcome to join if you've got stuff (German/Eng(mainly) /Russian) to Share.

  9. guessing those hubs are nmdc (old way of Direct Connect)

adc has UTF-8 out of the box hence no wierd chars.

guessing u have to have russian as a language in windows in nmdc to see the real russian chars or just hang out on adc hubs :)

if anyone else has a working solution for nmdc do tell cause nmdc imho is past its due date :shifty:

    and merry christmas :)

I didn't quite understand what nmdc and that stuff is, but thank you for the reply...

Installing a russian os is a little tricky for me, as my russian is not that good.

    hmmmmm

  10. Lo dudes

This is probably a windows issue, but I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix it.

    I'm running a German windows 7 64 bit Pro

    English ApexDC++ 1.2.2

But I live in Moscow, :-), hence I'm mostly hangging around Russian hubs.

Now, since I'm a social being, I would like to commuuuniiiccate with people in my hub.

But when they type Russian (I presume?) text, all I see is:
