The easiest way to check if DC++ is blocked is to go the Help/About menu in DC++ and check if it can download the Latest Version number (bottom box of the window). A version number should appear in the box soon. If you get error message instead it means something is preventing DC++ from accessing the Internet...
I am able to do this part, which makes me think it isnt a software firewall issue. I figured out that even though its not setup to be one, my dsl modem must be a router of some kind. So I changed from "direct connection" to "behind a firewall" to see what I would get (with the proper ip address). Still nothing. Logged into the router, started up DC++ (and still was not able to get any file lists from users). I immediately checked the log on the modem, and found this:

If I didn't know any better, I would say it appears that my dsl modem is blocking traffic. You think this is correct?
