    Good evening.If you wanna disable the balloon popups on new private messages go to options/appearence/balloone popups and deselect what ever you want.if you wanna disable private messages from a specific user - there's a 'ignore' function - select a user - right click - ignore user.hope i was of help.

    U didnt answer do u have real IP.and can u DL from the users u cant Dl their FL?i find this normal.my internet connection iz f*cked up (i mean alot) , i dont have real IP (they dont even provide such "extras") and i can only connect to 1/3 sometimes 1/2 to all the ppl in one hub

    Blocking specific IP's in ApexDC++

    In this guide you will learn how to block specific IPs with the PeerGuardian plugin.

    First you have to install PGP.Visit this page to see how to do this : http://forums.apexdc.net/index.php?showtopic=585

    After you have installed PGP there must be a file named "guarding.p2p" in the Apex installation directory (for example - "C:\Program Files\ApexDC\guarding.p2p").Open it with Notepad and scroll to the bottom line.Insert this:

    ifmnzhack:*.*.*.*-*.*.*.*
    Replace "*.*.*.*-*.*.*.*" with a valid IP range //or an ip// (NOTE : IPs (v4) may contain max 3 integers (between 2 dots), the minimum is 1 and the maximum is 255 ). For instance if you want to block every IP which starts with 63.150 - paste this 
    ifmnzhack:63.150.1.1-63.150.255.255
    Or if You want to block individual IPs - for example the IPs 192.168.3.152 and 124.36.74.242 : 
    ifmnzhack:192.168.3.152

ifmnzhack:124.36.74.242
    NOTE: You can do that this way if you like: 
    ifmnzhack:192.168.3.152-192.168.3.152

ifmnzhack:124.36.74.242-124.36.74.242

    Now you have to enable PGP from the settings ( Settings -> Security )

    Enable PGP, press "Reload Blocklist" and select your preferences.

    If You want to unblock some IP range - delete it from the blocklist.

    Please use PGP carefully - I am not responsible for any damage caused to your PC or if You get banned from some hub.

    can u add some feature the close button to minimize apex instead of closing it (all bittorrent clients have such feature)

    Sometimes when i have used bitcomet / azureus all day i close apex without wanting to (i have disabled the 'confirm on exit')

    Lets say i resize the windows (move the <main chat - users list> line left) or remove 'exact share' from users list and i open some new hub the windows will be in the default possition and ill still see the exact share.Sometime doing this in many hubs takes a while so can u add an ability to disable / enable this?

    If i wanna search the main chat i have to :

    1. - right click

    2. - select all

    3. - copy

    4. - open notebook /some other text editor/

    5. - paste

    and now i can finally use ctrl + F to find something

    is it possible to import ctrl F? (or some other method for searching the MC)

    Once when i started Dling a .run file apex started to take 99% of my CPU.i restarted my apex - nothing.Resterted my PC - no effect.Closed al processes (even my antivirus) - the same.Had to empty the queue to return to normal.(BTW i was DLing a file with the same name but with .exe extension , no problem.but when i started the .run - then it started)

    He is not lazy! :) He is almost the only coder for the Win version (as far as I know), and he has a right to some private life apart from school and PCs. If a feature is well defined and argumented, it is usually implemented if possible (read: if not TOO much work). :) You could have explained that you want "noob" protection in your very first post. Since Crise is a programmer, he automatically thinks and gives counterpoints.

    * I am not saying that as Crise's advocate, I'm saying that as another Bulgarian, who thinks that suspecting someone (especially a developper of a free program) in laziness is quite unpolite.

    Just a guess - the only logical reason may be that "the bridge" is not widening - the other peers just make a by-pass. F. ex., in my own LAN I am on wireless with an access point of max. 1000KB/s (because of a railway). But the whole network on my side of the railway is 100Mb based, and some users are directly connected, or via anothe access points. So, if more (faster than me) peers from my side of the railway start download, I can respectively by-pass the 1000KB/s limit of the access point. Similar is the situation if you download from some user outside your LAN, and your helping peers have faster internet than you. Sorry if this sounds stupid.

    But if this has to deal with the old strange lower speed between clients, it should be fixed...

    There is a Ctrl+S for that. If you mean smth like "Who has the latest Firefox and is ready to share it", it is another issue. The Only use of that is if your HDD limits you to share all you have. But in this case, since the data will be on CD/DVD, how Apex would know the path? On the other hand, if you have the data on the HDD, you should share it without request, if you like. Finally, if the user just can't set up his Search function, this is no excuse to spam in main chat. :)

    yes i know.i personally never ask such lame questions.But since iDemon is administrator and he watches the main chat and there a lot of lamers in my local hub such questions are asked constantly and since hes a good man (im not saying that bcuz he is admin.) he is ready to help.I never bother to do such stuff (like wasting my time helping lamerz(lamerz , not ppl who have no/little experience with PCs).Afcource if someone asks something like "how to make my fat32 drive ntfs?"ill answer.Really.

    1. Regarding your idea of users helping each other with downloading - IMHO you are experiencing the old problem with low speeds of SDC++ (and respectively Apex DC++) in a LAN between two users. I do not remember in detail what the problem was, but it was discussed there and I believe that it's better to solve it in its roots (if it is still not solved). So, if we imagine that you and the remote user are standing on both sides of a narrow bridge, the other users (your friends) just make the bridge wider? It just doesn't make sense, unless the remote user has enabled some limiter per IP.

    2. Please make a separate topic for each feature. Writing in two places is better than sorting the mess on one. :)

    Sorry about .2.i was too lazy.

    And yes , my friends make the bridge wider (bridge == bandwith).Not every one has modded client like rmdc , sdc , apx etc.in my hub 60 % of all are with the default dcc.yes , they can emulate , i know.and not everyone has enabled the speed limit.And about that 'problem' - im not Dling from all user with 250 - 500kb.And everyone says that such speed is normal.From some users i DL with 6MB+.I havent noticed any difference between the speed i get with apx and normal dc.(unless theres multi src).

    There r far more important things to be done than this.So unless other users like it dont waste ur time
