Posted August 23, 2006 In some cases when somebody post magnetlink or other links in chat or private chat... hmpf... anywhere... smiles replace some symbol combinations. I see only one easy and clear way to resolve this problem: suppress replacing symbols by smiles in ANY links. Who know other ways?
Posted August 23, 2006 I know a fix for this and if you test my emotion pack you wont get any problems with smileys. You can get my smileys here: http://php.internet.is/cyberpimp/ The simple fix for this is to put space in front of every smiley command. Like this <Emoticon PasteText=" " Bitmap="RadoX-Pack\RadoX_002.bmp"/> :)

Posted August 23, 2006 No, because you then get emoticons like this rather than this Don´t know what you mean, you don´t get smylies like this:) but you get smiles when there is space before like this This works trust me, you wont get any smylies in magnet links and thay don´t pop up where thay are not suppose to popp up. you can test this useing my smylies pack. http://strongdc.berlios.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3901

I'll go and update the packs.

And it's not working on all emoticons packs... Only on yours. RadoX you make really great pack but it's not a resolve of problem... ...I think forbid DC place icons in links better way then "hacking"... and it's work with all emoticons packs.... isn't it? also... do you really typing " :)" in text? What happens with smile if I type "Mary like bananas... :)"? Yes! It's eat space before! But I don't wont this... also I dont won't write "... :)". <--Two spaces... Considering the majority of users will be using the nerdcore or peerweb emoticon packs for ApexDC++, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Posted August 24, 2006 Just add an option to replace only isolated (with spaces on both sides) smiles, like its done in miranda-im.
Posted August 24, 2006 1. You don´t have to make 2 spaces to get a smiley, 1 space is enugh and most ppl do 1 space before thay use smiley. And there is a space in front of every line you type in DC so you don´t have to start putting space before code. 2. Link fix would only work on links but nothing else. 3. Open smiley pack .xml with Notepad and put space before every command, it´s very easy. 4. I don´t know wuy other smileypacks are buggy and no one fixes them. Not only the code cos the graphic af some packs are not alpha leyerd and work badly on dark backgraund. 5. No need for space after, works fine only with space before. 6. Have no idea what you mean by hacking. 7. I see that Lee is going to put space before code so you don´t have to hack the xml hehe. 8. Try the pack before you critisize this fix, and yes this does fix it. 9. Finally, I have no idea why I put this post in numbers :)
