How to setup DcHub on LAN

4 posts in this topic

Hi there,

didn't know where to put this, so sorry in advance if this is incorrect.

I'm going to host a LAN at my school and I was thinking of having a DcHub for all updates and programs needed to play (hosted on a seperate machine).

There will be no outside internet connection only Local Area. How to I host a hub on only Local Area. It is possible to be active then to get maximum speed?

Is there any port forwarding needed? What hub software is best to use? Finally is there a step by step guide somewhere?

Best regards,

a n00b in need! (a)

Ps. I am surfing the net for this, just thought I'd stop by here first ;]

Hosting a hub on LAN is the same as hosting a hub for Internet. Just make sure you are firewalled from the outside connections (usually this is the case if you have a private IP address on your network interface card).

As for active connections: you will be active as long as your software firewall doesn't block connections to your DC client.
