More info in Search spy

9 posts in this topic

I can only see three columns in Search spy - the search query, count and time. But there are users on our LAN who use LDC++ (which is quite old version) and they can see the IP address as well. I would like to see it too, at least this IP address if not the nick directly :)

Or make it available for me to see when I am OP only. What do you say?

Ah, nothing, I forgot about the CDM Debug Messages. But the results in there are pretty quickly going and bloated wiith TTH searches :)

Yes.

It shows lots of crap when you only are interested in searches.

It's very limited and it doesn't take long before information is starting to disappear. (logging isn't available either)

It's not as easy to look over like search spy is

No ignoring of TTH searches as mentioned above.

Something wrong with the filter ?

Yes, the filter only works with ip-adresses as already mentioned and it still don't work with searches but only with the IP from a specific hub in this case.

Search Spy is designed to look for the stuff which is the most wanted and not to break users' privacy. That's why you can't see IPs, ports, nicks etc.

I agree with BM about search spy.

But about CDM Debug Messages:

A filter for the text that is displayed or the DC commands shown, and a log.

It will be much easy to spot CTM flood (fake CTM messages) emerging from hub X.

A MUST.

ya, you're basically asking to see who is searching for what.

Then again, the CDM gives IP addresses, so there's practically no privacy.

So it would make sense if you either added nicks and more info to Search Spy, or removed the IP's from CDM.
