In Death Metal it´s nessisary if you wan´t to know what thay are singing about hehe

Learn the lyrics and sing along, great if you listen to rock.

Understandable I guess, I used to listen to a lot of metal, half time you cant make them out at all!

Ever listened to Cannibal Corpse? There are tracks that you can simply don't understand, even with reading lyrics with it. There are bands that I like because of their lyrics and there are bands that I like because of their music, and there's a combination of it, like In Flames. :) Knowing the lyrics can be disappointing or attracting, but I prefer to read them at least once, so I get a clue on what the song is trying to tell.

Cannibal Corpse arn't too bad, listen to Anal Cunt (colour changed because the band name might offend :) ). Their songs are reallyhard to understand, but one or two are quite funny if you read the lyrics.

Anyway, on topic... Total Commander users should switch to Directory Opus.

Hmm, I'm going to have to try The Gimp again. I learnt image manipulation etc. in The Gimp before I touched Photoshop, but I doubt it has all the features I'm become used to in Photoshop now. I have a feeling that Photoshop 7 running in WINE may even be more feature fall then The Gimp.

The list reads as the list of someone who has actively looked for alternatives to any application with limitations. You should try Directory Opus sometime, it's a replacement for the really quite limited explorer. You may find it's the most powerful and customizable application you'll ever use, and will allow you to intergrate the use of some of these programs into it.
