Refresh file list in 1.0.b3

17 posts in this topic

support I don't know is it bug or feature... apexdc 1.0.b3, winxp sp2 x86

1. Make subfolder inside shared folder.

For example in prefferences - share

d:\movies - shared

Create new folder - test inside d:\movies, copy some files

In shared tree in prefferenses:

d:\movies\test - exist, shared

2. Refreshing file list

3. Load my file list

d:\movies\test - not exist in list

Restarting client, open my file list - all ok, d:\movies\test - shared.

What's wrong?

Might be "Add finished files to share instantly (if shared)" in File>Settings>Advanced. Last two options there also deserve attention.

TBH, I THINK, altho I could be wrong, DC checks file structure when you load it. If you add folders while it's running it wont see them.

New folders that is, not ones that are moved.

"Add finished files to share instantly" - not affected :)

For test I create "test" folder in shared folder and refresh - new folder was added only after restart apexdc...

But after CTRL-E files in "test" dir was hashed.

Same result with apexdc 1.0.3b with default prefs - (installed in another folder)

For comparison I have installed a previous version of apexdc - 0.4 - all OK! Subfolder in shared folder was added in filelist after refresh.

If you do 2-3 /refresh it will be there without restarting, just be a bit patient.

Shouldn't even need to do it multiple times, once it's all hashed one /refresh should suffice. As Noctis says, just be patient. ;)

Nope :P

One or two times is not enough ;) ,the client says finished but when opening own file list ,the new files/directories do not appear.Only restarting off the client does the trick.

Will do some more tests but I`m 99% sure of this!

Try /rebuild and see if it helps, then continue to use /refresh after.. your database might be redundent.

I added files to my share and they appeared after 2-3 /refresh so I'm 100% sure.

or after being hashed and you have a luck that the last /refresh was after hashing :D

btw you write 2-3 (not 2 and not 3, but 2 or 3), so you can't be 100% sure ;-)

The point is that I have added files to my share... refreshed filelist (2 or 3 times... doesn't matter)... so the point is that they appeared in my share without restarting the client... even tried it today, so I am 100% sure. :-)
