ApexDC++ and Windows Vista

6 posts in this topic

Hello,

I wanted to ask, not that it is a problem, just how i understand things in here (vista) work. According to what i know, nobody can write into the Program Files folder, not even an application installed in that folder can modify any of its contents without elevation, unless actually taking ownership of the folder, wich "CAN" be risky considering some viruses and that junk :)

So i was thinking, what about all of the xml setting files in the settings folder, i dont own that folder so how are my settings saved...

Anyone know where the changed/downloaded files go to ?

Do i need to take ownership of the ApexDC++ folder (maybe just settings folder)

not an important support request, just asking how stuff works :)

Thanks,

As far as I know UAC does not effect Apex at all, I've been using the two together since feburary and have had 0 complications. Not many folders are protected fully anyway. Also are you running a standard account or an administrator account??
